How much does the AWEA MVP-4040 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AWEA MVP-4040 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Square is the word for the AWEA MVP-4040. X and Y travel are both 4,000 mm (157.5 in), which is unusual in a bridge machine and suits parts that are as wide as they are long: ring-shaped fabrications, large flanges, press platens, square machine bases. The table is 4,020 x 3,010 mm (158.3 x 118.5 in) and the clear distance between the columns is 3,500 mm (137.8 in).
The MVP-4032 is the narrower twin. It shares the X travel, the 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) table load, the 15 m/min (591 ipm) X rapid and the P = 0.025 mm VDI positioning accuracy. What the wide frame changes is everything across the machine. The cross rail spans a longer gap, Y rapid is 10 m/min (394 ipm) instead of the 12 m/min (472 ipm) of the MVP-4032, the coolant tank grows from 750 L to 1,200 L, and weight rises from 70,000 kg (154,321 lb) to 78,500 kg (173,060 lb).
A long cross rail has to stay straight under a heavy head. AWEA's description is of a double-column structure that fully supports the rail, a box way W axis, and locking by 6 pcs. of hydraulic locking mechanism. The rail travels 1,250 mm (49.2 in) vertically.
Cutting is done by a BT 50 spindle rated 22 / 26 kW (30 / 35 HP), at 10 ~ 4,000 rpm in the vertical position and 20 ~ 3,000 rpm horizontally. Z travel is 1,000 mm (39.4 in); 1,200 and 1,400 mm are listed as options. The magazine holds 60 tools.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Equal 4,000 mm (157.5 in) X and Y travels for wide, square or round parts
- 3,500 mm (137.8 in) between columns, against 2,700 mm (106.3 in) on the MVP-4032
- Keeps the 15 m/min (591 ipm) X rapid of the short-bed models
- P = 0.025 mm VDI positioning accuracy over full travel, the tightest listed for the wide frame
- 1,200 L coolant tank, the larger of the two sizes in the series
Limitations
- Y rapid of 10 m/min (394 ipm); the MVP-4032 is listed at 12 m/min (472 ipm)
- Table load of 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) on a 4,020 x 3,010 mm (158.3 x 118.5 in) table, no higher than the narrower MVP-4032
- 78,500 kg (173,060 lb), heavier than the MVP-5032 at 75,000 kg (165,344 lb) despite the shorter X
- Standard Z travel is 1,000 mm (39.4 in); the 1,200 and 1,400 mm strokes are options

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The distance between columns is 3,500 mm (137.8 in), the table is 3,010 mm (118.5 in) wide and Y travel is 4,000 mm (157.5 in). The Y stroke is longer than the column gap, which gives the horizontal head room to stand off beside the part and cut its side faces.
02
In Y, yes: 10 m/min (394 ipm) against 12 m/min (472 ipm) on the MVP-4032. X at 15 m/min (591 ipm), Z at 10 m/min (394 ipm) and W at 3 m/min (118 ipm) are identical, and so is the 5 m/min (197 ipm) cutting feed rate.
03
The table lists the distance from spindle nose to table as 200 ~ 2,450 mm (7.9 ~ 96.5 in). That range comes from the 1,250 mm (49.2 in) W travel of the cross rail together with the 1,000 mm (39.4 in) Z stroke. Fixture height and tool length both come out of it.
04
The MVP-5040 keeps the 4,000 mm (157.5 in) Y travel and adds X: 5,000 mm (196.9 in), with an 18,000 kg (39,683 lb) table load. The MVP-5040 rapids X at 10 m/min (394 ipm) with VDI positioning accuracy of P = 0.030 mm, where the MVP-4040 is listed at 15 m/min (591 ipm) and P = 0.025 mm. The MVP-5040 weighs 83,500 kg (184,083 lb).
