Overview
With an HSK-A100 spindle and 2,700 mm (106.3 in) between its columns, the AWEA MEGA5 P3032 opens the heavier half of the MEGA5 P range. Travels are 3,000 mm (118.1 in) in X, 3,200 mm (126.0 in) in Y and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in Z, and the Z stroke can be ordered as 1,200 mm.
The specification is written for the TCH-30F, the high torque version of the two-axis head. Its spindle is rated 40 / 50 kW (53.6 / 67.1 hp), tops out at 12,000 rpm, and AWEA gives the maximum torque as 314 Nm at 1,540 rpm. The fork that carries the B-axis is cast in GGG40 iron. This is a head for steel and cast iron: roughing die blocks, boring housings at compound angles, facing large fabrications.
