Anderson Spectrum M510 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Anderson Spectrum M510 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Anderson or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Anderson Spectrum M510 takes the Spectrum-M router up to 5 x 10 sheet. Its table is 3100 mm (122”) by 1550 mm (61”) with 2 vacuum zones, X stroke is 3180 mm (125”) and Y stroke 1835 mm (72”). The spindle is 12 HP, the rack style tool changer has 8 positions and the control is FANUC 0i.

Against the Spectrum M48 the differences are few but useful. The rack gains two positions, 8 instead of 6. A second vacuum zone lets half the table run while the other half is off. Weight rises to 3,100 Kg (6,800 lbs.). Everything else in the table is identical, including the 200 mm (8”) Z stroke.

This is a rack-change machine, and on a longer bed that has a cost. Each tool change means the gantry travels to the rack and returns to the cut. With rapids of 60 m/min in X and Y that trip is quick, but a program that swaps tools on every part will feel it. Grouping operations by tool across the whole nest is the usual answer. The boring block, listed as 6 inline, or 5+5, takes the drilling off the spindle entirely.

Anderson pitches the series at companies with limited floor space and names wood, plastic, aluminum and composites as its materials. At 12 HP and up to 22,000 rpm on HSK-63F, the spindle suits sheet goods and light aluminum routing more than heavy plate. Drives are helical rack and pinion on X and Y with a ball screw on Z. Offload pusher sweeper, automatic off-loading, reverse air flow and a bar-code reader are optional; a C-axis is listed as not available.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 3100 mm (122”) by 1550 mm (61”) table for 5 x 10 sheet
  • Rack style tool changer with 8 positions, two more than the Spectrum M48
  • 2 vacuum zones, so half the table can be shut off for smaller blanks
  • Boring block listed as 6 inline, or 5+5
  • Offload pusher sweeper and automatic off-loading are available as options

Limitations

  • Tools change at a rack, so each change costs a gantry trip
  • One spindle rating only: 12 HP
  • C-axis is listed as not available
  • Z rapid is 12 m/min, a fifth of the 60 m/min X and Y rapids

Best For

5 x 10 nested panels in wood and plastics Light aluminum and composite sheet routing at up to 22,000 rpm Programs that can group operations by tool Shops that want FANUC 0i control on a compact machine

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the Spectrum M510 differ from the Spectrum M48?

Table size, zones and tool positions. The Spectrum M510 has a 3100 mm (122”) by 1550 mm (61”) table, 2 vacuum zones and 8 rack positions. The Spectrum M48 has a 2500 mm (98”) by 1300 mm (51”) table, 1 zone and 6 positions. Spindle, rapids, Z stroke and control are the same.

02 What spindle is on the Spectrum M510?

A 12 HP spindle with a maximum speed of 22,000 rpm and HSK-63F clamping. No other power rating appears in the table for this series. Anderson says the Spectrum-M shares its spindle with the company's larger, premium models.

03 How much does the Spectrum M510 weigh?

3,100 Kg (6,800 lbs.). The Spectrum M48 is 2,700 Kg (6,000 lbs.) and the Spectrum M512 is 3,700 Kg (8,200 lbs.). Anderson describes the construction as 100% steel. The vacuum pump, in 10, 25 or 40 HP sizes, is separate.

04 Is automatic unloading available on the Spectrum M510?

Yes, as options. The table lists an offload pusher sweeper and automatic off-loading as optional, along with reverse air flow and a bar-code reader. Automatic loading does not appear in the Spectrum-M table at all, so ask Anderson before planning a loading system around this model.
