Overview
The Anderson Stratos Series is a high-production CNC router platform engineered for demanding cabinet, furniture, and nested-based manufacturing environments. Produced by Anderson America Corp., a subsidiary of Biesse Group, the Stratos Series is designed to maximize throughput on panel-based production — delivering fast load/unload cycles, high feed rates, and reliable vacuum workholding for sheet goods including MDF, particleboard, plywood, solid wood, aluminum composite, and plastics.
The Stratos features a solid welded steel frame with a moving gantry architecture, providing the structural rigidity necessary for aggressive cutting parameters on dense engineered wood products. The standard 5×10 ft and 5×12 ft table configurations cover the full range of North American sheet sizes, with extended-table versions available for door and panel manufacturers working with oversized sheets. Zone-based vacuum pods and a full-table aggregate foam gasket system provide flexible workholding for mixed production runs with varying part sizes.
At the heart of the Stratos is a high-frequency electrospindle delivering 12 to 18 HP, with speeds up to 24,000 RPM for clean, vibration-free cuts in soft and hard materials. An automatic tool changer with 8 to 12 positions handles common production routing, drilling, and grooving tools without operator intervention. An optional multi-spindle drilling head delivers rapid line-boring and shelf-pin drilling for cabinet carcass production, dramatically reducing cycle time compared to single-spindle sequential drilling.
Anderson integrates the Stratos with Biesse's CNC Suite software ecosystem, including Maestro CAM software for seamless programming from design to cut file. The machine's Syntec-based or Biesse-proprietary control offers job scheduling, barcode label reading for automatic program loading, and network file management for integrated factory floor workflows. The Stratos Series is particularly popular in custom cabinet shops, large kitchen and bath manufacturers, and architectural millwork producers across North America.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Biesse Group backing provides strong North American dealer network and parts availability
- Optional multi-spindle drilling head significantly reduces cabinet carcass cycle time
- Maestro software integration streamlines design-to-cut workflow for panel-based production
- Competitive pricing for a production-grade nested-based router with ATC
Limitations
- Primarily optimized for flat panel work — not a strong choice for aluminum or composite machining
- Entry-level spindle power (12 HP) may be limiting for aggressive cuts in dense MDF or solid hardwood
- Control interface is less intuitive for operators trained on FANUC or HEIDENHAIN platforms
Best For
Frequently Asked Questions
01
The Stratos can cut aluminum composite material (ACM/Dibond) and thin aluminum sheet at moderate feed rates. For heavy aluminum plate machining, a more rigid machine with higher spindle power and chip evacuation is recommended. The Stratos is primarily designed and optimized for wood-based panel products, plastics, and foams.
02
Nested-based manufacturing (NBM) is a CNC production method where parts are programmed to be cut from a full sheet in an optimized nesting layout, minimizing waste. The Stratos's full-table vacuum system, fast rapids, and Maestro software integration make it well-suited for NBM workflows in cabinet and furniture production.
03
Anderson America Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Biesse Group, the Italian woodworking machinery conglomerate. Anderson focuses on the North American market with locally assembled and supported CNC routers. Biesse's global manufacturing and engineering resources back the Stratos platform, providing access to Biesse's software ecosystem, spare parts supply chain, and application engineering support.
