How much does the Onsrud 244E cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Onsrud 244E that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Onsrud 244E is the largest 3-axis E-Series router. Its twin tables are each 120 in (3,048 mm) deep, and in the widest column 120 in (3,048 mm) across as well, under a fixed bridge with an 18 hp (13.4 kW), 24,000 rpm spindle.
A bridge spanning two ten-foot tables makes this the widest machine in the series by far: 415 in (10,541 mm). Length is 150 in (3,810 mm) for W5, 162 in (4,115 mm) for W6, 213 in (5,411 mm) for W8 and 243 in (6,173 mm) for W10.
Vacuum zoning is richer here than on the smaller sizes. The W5, W6 and W8 columns list 4-6 zones and the W10 column 8. Height is given as 106 in (2,693 mm) for W5, W6 and W8. Onsrud's figure for the W10 column does not agree with the rest of that row and is left out of the table here; ask the maker for it.
Why buy a 3-axis machine this big? Because it turns two full-size plates or panels at once into finished parts with heavy cuts, and because the E-Series accepts up to 8 spindles. The usual limits apply: an 11 in (279 mm) standard Z-stroke, with up to 40 in (1,016 mm) optional, and 12 tools unless the 24-tool upgrade is taken.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
In the W10 column each of the two tables is 120 in (3,048 mm) in X by 120 in (3,048 mm) in Y. The narrower columns keep the 120 in depth with a table X of 60 in (1,524 mm), 72 in (1,829 mm) or 96 in (2,439 mm).
02
415 in (10,541 mm) in every width column. Machine length ranges from 150 in (3,810 mm) for W5 to 243 in (6,173 mm) for W10.
03
Onsrud lists 4-6 for the W5, W6 and W8 columns and 8 for W10. The smaller E-Series models mostly list 4, so this size comes with finer zoning.
04
Yes. The standard Z-stroke is 11 in (279 mm) and the E-Series lists 18 in (457 mm), 28 in (711 mm) and 40 in (1,016 mm) as upgrades. Machine height will change with the stroke.
