Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Anderson Stratos SUP/NEST that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Anderson Stratos SUP/NEST is the entry model of the Stratos traveling gantry routers: 3400 mm (134 in) of X stroke, 2180 mm (86 in) of Y and 250 mm (10 in) of Z, with a 24000 rpm HSK 63 spindle and a FANUC 0i control. It is the only Stratos with a choice of spindle power, 12 HP / 18 HP, and the only one whose table can be ordered with 1 or 2 vacuum zones.
It is also the slow one of the family, and that is the main thing to weigh. Rapids are 50 M/min in X and Y and 20 M/min in Z, with a maximum rapid traverse of 70 M/min. The Stratos Pro runs 100 M/min in X and Y and 141 M/min combined. On nested sheets with hundreds of short moves between parts, that gap shows up in the cycle time. On a shop that cuts a few dozen sheets a day it may not matter.
Z stroke is 250 mm (10 in), against 350 mm (14 in) on the Stratos Pro. That is plenty for sheet goods and a spoilboard, less so for tall fixtures or aggregates with long tools.
Tooling rides with the gantry. Anderson offers 8, 10 or 12 position ride-along tool changers on this model, and the boring block is the 5+5 unit only. Vacuum pumps of 10, 25 or 40 HP are listed, so the pump is sized at order. Reverse air flow, a bar-code reader, a C-axis and an offload pusher are optional. Automatic loading and the Vector Spindle HSK 63-E are listed as not available here, so a shop planning a loading line should look at the Pro.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Spindle power is a choice of 12 HP / 18 HP, where every other Stratos is listed at 18 HP only
- 2180 mm (86 in) of Y stroke, the same gantry span as the larger Stratos models
- Ride-along tool changer with 8, 10 or 12 positions, so tool changes do not cost a trip to the end of the bed
- 24000 rpm spindle on HSK 63 tooling with a FANUC 0i control
- Table can be ordered with 1 or 2 vacuum zones, and pumps of 10, 25 or 40 HP are listed
Limitations
- Rapids of 50 M/min in X and Y are half the 100 M/min of the Stratos Pro
- Z stroke is 250 mm (10 in), against 350 mm (14 in) on the Stratos Pro
- Automatic loading and the Vector Spindle HSK 63-E are listed as not available on this model
- Boring block is 5+5 only; the 10+7 block is listed for the Pro models

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Speed, Z stroke and options. The Stratos SUP/NEST has rapids of 50 M/min in X and Y and 250 mm (10 in) of Z. The Stratos Pro has 100 M/min in X and Y and 350 mm (14 in) of Z, 4 vacuum zones and a longer 3900 mm (154 in) X stroke. Automatic loading is optional on the Pro and listed as not available on the SUP/NEST.
02
An HSK 63 spindle that runs to 24000 rpm, listed at 12 HP / 18 HP. The lower rating is enough for sheet goods with small cutters. The 18 HP version is the one to ask for if the work includes heavy profiling in thick solid surface or plastics.
03
The ride-along tool changer is offered with 8, 10 or 12 positions. A 5+5 boring block is listed alongside it, which drills hole patterns without using a changer position. Count the profile cutters and drills a typical job needs before choosing the changer size.
04
Reverse air flow, a bar-code reader, a C-axis and an offload pusher are optional. Anderson describes the C-axis as an addition for angled drilling and joinery operations. Automatic loading and the Vector Spindle HSK 63-E are listed as not available on this model.
