Overview
Both turrets of the Accuway UA-1500T2Y2 have a Y axis. The table lists Y1/Y2 travel of ±50 mm (±2.0 in), which makes this a twin-spindle machine where off-centre milling and drilling can run on the front and the back of a part simultaneously.
That is the difference from the UA-1500T2Y, and it comes at a cost in size of work. The UA-1500T2Y2 turns 200 mm (7.9 in) at each spindle and swings 460 mm (18.1 in) over the bed. When is the second Y worth it? When the back of the part carries as much milling as the front. With one Y axis, such a part waits for the Y turret on one side.
