Overview
The Accuway UV-100EC pairs the largest turret-type vertical lathe frame with a BMT servo mechanical turret. It turns 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in diameter and 700 mm (27.6 in) in length, weighs 16,000 kg (35,273 lb), and drives its A2-15 spindle through a 2-step gearbox and belt.
Parts in this class are expensive to move. A one-metre ring or housing that needs drilled and tapped holes would normally go from the vertical lathe to a boring mill, with a crane lift and a fresh set-up in between. The BMT turret and the optional 0 degree and 90 degree rotary tool holders are there to keep that work on one machine. As on the other EC models, the table prints no rotary tool speed or power, so the milling capability must be specified with Accuway.
Spindle power is 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp), with 37/45 and 45/55 kW bracketed after it, and the maximum speed is 1,200 rpm. The chuck is listed as 24 (32/40) in, and the larger hydraulic chucks appear among the options.
The turret has 12 stations, with 32 mm (1.3 in) square and 50 mm (2.0 in) round shanks. X travels 550 mm (21.7 in) at 15 m/min (591 in/min) and Z travels 800 mm (31.5 in) at 7 m/min (276 in/min), on box ways. An automatic door, a tool setter and a Heidenhain linear scale are optional. Allow 4.2 m of height.
