You Ji YM40 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the You Ji YM40 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from You Ji or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The You Ji YM40 is a compact horizontal machining center built as a line module: a movable column carries the BT-40 spindle, the table is fixed, and the work-holding unit is chosen from a list of nine. Travels are 600 x 500 x 500 mm (23.6 x 19.7 x 19.7 in) over a 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) table.

You Ji says the machine is a modular design, simple to integrate into production lines, and suitable for wet and dry machining. The shape confirms it. Floor space is 4,758 x 1,890 mm (187.3 x 74.4 in), long and narrow, so machines can stand side by side with a conveyor or gantry loader across the front.

The work-holding codes are H (fixture), A (A-axis rotary table), B (B-axis rotary table), A+B (both), BR (B-axis rotary table with curved coupling orientation), BP (B-axis rotary table with automatic pallet changer), BPR (pallet changer plus curved coupling orientation) and S (swing table). An H machine is a dedicated station; a BP or BPR machine is a conventional pallet-changing horizontal.

The spindle runs to 10,000 rpm on a 7.5/11 kW (10.1/14.8 hp) motor. That is a light, fast spindle for aluminium housings, small iron castings and drilling and tapping cycles, not for heavy steel milling. The magazine holds 24 tools up to 300 mm (11.8 in) long. Axes ride on roller linear guide ways, which the maker credits for rigidity and rapid traverse.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Movable column and fixed table, so the fixture and part stay still during cutting
  • 10,000 rpm BT-40 spindle for light, fast cutting
  • Nine work-holding builds, from a plain fixture (H) to pallet changer with curved coupling (BPR)
  • Roller linear guide ways on the sliding units
  • Narrow 1,890 mm (74.4 in) dimension for side-by-side line installation
  • Stated as suitable for wet and dry machining

Limitations

  • Spindle motor of 7.5/11 kW (10.1/14.8 hp) is light for steel roughing
  • 24-tool magazine limits unattended part variety
  • Travels of 600 x 500 x 500 mm (23.6 x 19.7 x 19.7 in) restrict the part to small housings
  • Table load and rapid traverse rates are not in the table

Best For

Automotive-style housings and covers in aluminium or cast iron Transfer-line and cell installations with several machines in a row Drilling, tapping and light milling on parts within a 500 mm (19.7 in) cube

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What kind of machine is the YM40?

A CNC horizontal machining center with a movable column and a fixed table. You Ji describes it as a modular design that is simple to integrate into production lines. The 40 in the name stands for BT40.

02 What table versions are available?

H (fixture), A (A-axis rotary table), B (B-axis rotary table), A+B, BR (B-axis with curved coupling orientation), BP (B-axis with automatic pallet changer), BPR (B-axis, pallet changer and curved coupling orientation) and S (swing table).

03 What are the spindle specifications?

Spindle taper BT-40, spindle speed 10,000 rpm and spindle motor 7.5/11 kW (10.1/14.8 hp). The tool magazine holds 24 tools with a maximum tool length of 300 mm (11.8 in).

04 How big is the work envelope?

X-axis travel is 600 mm (23.6 in), Y-axis travel 500 mm (19.7 in) and Z-axis travel 500 mm (19.7 in). Table size is 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in).

05 How does the YM40 relate to the HMC500?

Both have a 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) table, but they are different classes. The HMC500 is a BT-50 machine with 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) and 800 mm (31.5 in) of X travel. The YM40 is the lighter BT-40 line machine.
