You Ji HMC500 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the You Ji HMC500 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from You Ji or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The You Ji HMC500 is the smallest of eight horizontal machining centers in the HMC series, and it is unusual for its size: a 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) table under a BT-50 spindle. Most 500 mm pallets are paired with smaller tapers. Here the tooling is sized for heavy cuts in a compact part.

Travels are 800 mm (31.5 in) in X, 750 mm (29.5 in) in Y and 800 mm (31.5 in) in Z. All three exceed the table dimension by a wide margin, so the spindle can reach around a fixture tower that overhangs the pallet, and long tools have room to retract in Z.

The spindle is listed at 8,000 rpm with a 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) motor. Maximum table load is 500 kg (1,102 lb). That load is the practical limit of the machine. A cast-iron tombstone with hydraulic clamping uses a large share of it before any parts are mounted, so weigh the fixture design against it.

Two builds appear in the model key. B is a B-axis rotary table, and BP is a B-axis rotary table with an automatic pallet changer. There is no W-axis on this size; the catalogue marks that row as not applicable, and a boring quill only appears from the HMC1000 upward. The machine stands on 4,000 x 3,600 mm (157.5 x 141.7 in) and is 3,100 mm (122.0 in) high.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • BT-50 spindle on a 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) table
  • 8,000 rpm with a 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) motor
  • Travels of 800 x 750 x 800 mm (31.5 x 29.5 x 31.5 in), well beyond the pallet size
  • Available with B-axis rotary table (B) or with automatic pallet changer (BP)

Limitations

  • Table load of 500 kg (1,102 lb) is quickly used up by a fixture tower
  • No W-axis: the catalogue marks it as not applicable on this size
  • Tool capacity and rapid traverse are not in the published table
  • Floor space of 4,000 x 3,600 mm (157.5 x 141.7 in) is large for a 500 mm pallet
06

Best For

Small steel and iron housings that need 50-taper boring and face milling Valve bodies and pump parts under 500 kg (1,102 lb) with the fixture Pallet-changing production on the BP build

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What spindle does the HMC500 have?

A BT-50 spindle with a speed of 8,000 rpm and a 15/18.5 kW (20.1/24.8 hp) spindle motor. The HMC630 uses the same spindle data on a larger table.

02 What are the travels and table size?

X-axis travel 800 mm (31.5 in), Y-axis travel 750 mm (29.5 in), Z-axis travel 800 mm (31.5 in). The table is 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) and carries up to 500 kg (1,102 lb).

03 Does the HMC500 have a pallet changer?

It depends on the build. You Ji's key lists B for a B-axis rotary table and BP for a B-axis rotary table with an automatic pallet changer. The catalogue does not state pallet change time or the number of pallets.

04 Is there a W-axis?

No. The catalogue marks W-axis travel as not applicable for the HMC500, HMC630 and HMC800. A W-axis of 600 mm (23.6 in) first appears on the HMC1000.
