YCM UV650 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the YCM UV650 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from YCM or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

YCM describes the UV650 as a simultaneous 5-axis vertical machining center for complex parts. It carries a ø650 mm (ø25.6 in) tilt and rotary table on B and C axes, with linear travels of 620 mm (24.4 in) in X, 520 mm (20.5 in) in Y and 460 mm (18.1 in) in Z.

Measurement is taken at the axes themselves. Linear scales are mounted on X, Y and Z, and rotary encoders on B and C are standard. For 5-axis work this matters more than on a 3-axis machine, because an error in one rotary axis shows up as a position error across the whole part. The tilt range is 200°, from -90° to +110°, and a full circular hydraulic brake clamps both rotary axes for positioned, 3+2 cutting.

Table load depends on tilt angle: 300 kg (661.38 lb) between 0° and 45°, and 200 kg (440.92 lb) between 45° and 90°. Plan heavy parts around the lower figure if they will be machined on their side.

The IDD spindle has a 17 kW (22.8 HP) hollow shaft motor, ceramic bearings and a BBT40 taper, and runs at 12,000 rpm or 15,000 rpm as an option. The hollow shaft is what allows coolant through the spindle to be added. Tool-to-tool time is 1.8 sec from a 40-tool chain magazine, with larger magazines optional. Rapids are 36 m/min (1,417 ipm). A bellows roof can be unlatched and moved back for crane loading, and an optional automatic side door prepares the machine for a robot or pallet system. It weighs 10,000 kg (22,046 lb).

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How much weight can the UV650 table carry?

It depends on the tilt. With the table between 0° and 45° the load is 300 kg (661.38 lb). Tilted between 45° and 90° it is 200 kg (440.92 lb). The table is ø650 mm (ø25.6 in) with T-slots listed as 5 x 18 x 100 mm.

02 What feedback systems does the UV650 have?

Linear scales are mounted on the X, Y and Z axes and high precision rotary encoders on the B and C axes are standard. The linear axes run on roller guideways with pre-tensioned, double-nut, direct drive ball screws.

03 What are the axis travels and tilt range?

X travel is 620 mm (24.4 in), Y is 520 mm (20.5 in) and Z is 460 mm (18.1 in). The B axis covers 200°, from -90° to +110°. Rapid traverse is 36 m/min (1,417 ipm) on the linear axes.

04 What spindle and tool magazine are fitted?

A BBT40 IDD spindle with a 17 kW (22.8 HP) hollow shaft motor, 12,000 rpm as standard and 15,000 rpm as an option. The standard magazine is a 40-tool chain type; the table lists a 60-tool magazine as the option. Tool-to-tool time is 1.8 sec.
