YCM T13 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the YCM T13 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from YCM or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Larger of YCM's two ISO14955 certified vertical machining centers, the T13 has 1,300 mm (51.18 in) of X travel, 680 mm (26.77 in) of Y and 630 mm (24.80 in) of Z. The spindle taper is BBT50, and the table, 1,500 x 680 mm (59.06 x 26.77 in), is rated for 1,500 kg (3,307 lb).

Buyers will mostly weigh it against the T11. The step up adds X travel, some Y and table capacity for a little more machine weight: 11,000 kg (24,251 lb) in all. The Z travel and the 150-780 mm (5.91-30.71 in) spindle nose to table range do not change, so the T13 is the choice for longer or heavier parts, not taller ones.

What makes the pair unusual among 50-taper machines is speed. Roller linear guides and large ball screws on every axis give rapids of 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) in X and Y and 24 m/min (945 ipm) in Z. The casting supports the table over its full stroke, and the head has no counterweight. That combination lets a 50-taper spindle be used for production work in aluminium castings as well as for steel.

The base spindle is a 6,000 rpm IDD unit with 15 kW (20.1 HP); 10,000 rpm and ratings of 30 and 48 kW (40.2 and 64.4 HP) are in the options column. The magazine carries 24 tools as standard and 32 or 40 as options, with a 20 kg (44.1 lb) limit per tool.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) table load on a 1,500 x 680 mm (59.06 x 26.77 in) table
  • 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) rapids in X and Y with a BBT50 spindle
  • ISO14955 certified green machine tool, per YCM
  • Optional spindles of 30 and 48 kW (40.2 and 64.4 HP)
  • Tools up to 20 kg (44.1 lb) in 24, 32 or 40-tool magazines

Limitations

  • The standard spindle has 15 kW (20.1 HP); more power is optional
  • Z travel of 630 mm (24.80 in) is no greater than on the T11
  • 6,000 rpm standard speed limits small-tool finishing unless the 10,000 rpm option is chosen
  • Machine weight of 11,000 kg (24,251 lb)

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the T13?

X travel is 1,300 mm (51.18 in), Y is 680 mm (26.77 in) and Z is 630 mm (24.80 in). Spindle nose to table is 150-780 mm (5.91-30.71 in), and the table is 1,500 x 680 mm (59.06 x 26.77 in) with T-slots listed as 6 x 18 x 100 mm.

02 How much heavier a part can the T13 take than the T11?

The T13 table is rated for 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) and the T11 table for 1,200 kg (2,646 lb). The T13 weighs 11,000 kg (24,251 lb); the T11 weighs 10,500 kg (23,148 lb).

03 Which spindle should be ordered for steel roughing?

The table lists a standard 6,000 rpm spindle with 15 kW (20.1 HP) and optional ratings of 30 and 48 kW (40.2 and 64.4 HP). For heavy cuts in steel one of the optional spindles is the one to discuss with YCM, since the standard rating is low for BBT50 tooling.

04 What guideways does the T13 use?

Roller linear guides on all axes with large-size ball screws, and 4 roller guideways on the Y axis. YCM gives the rapid speed as 30/30/24 m/min and describes the structure as an inverted Y shape with full stroke support and no overhang.
