Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Goodway GTZ-1500 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Goodway GTZ-1500 puts two spindles and two turrets, one above and one below the centerline, on a 60° slant bed within a 6.5 m2 footprint. Either turret can work on either spindle, and both can cut the same part at once for balanced turning. It is a bar machine with 6 in chucks.
Goodway offers three spindle versions and prints them as three columns. The Ø45 mm (1.8 in) version runs to 6,000 rpm, the Ø51 mm (2.0 in) version to 5,000 rpm and the Ø65 mm (2.6 in) version to 4,500 rpm. The first two use an A2-5 spindle nose and the largest an A2-6. Motors are 7.5 kW (10.1 hp) continuous and 11 kW (14.8 hp) for 15 min., with an 11 kW continuous upgrade listed for the two larger bores.
Travel figures show how the two turrets differ. The upper turret has 150 mm (5.9 in) in X1, 590 mm (23.2 in) in Z1 and a Y1 stroke of ±42 mm (±1.7 in). The lower turret has 137 mm (5.4 in) or 142 mm (5.6 in) in X2 depending on the spindle version, 561 mm (22.1 in) in Z2 and ±33 mm (±1.3 in) in Y2. Spindle 2 slides 625 mm (24.6 in) on its Zs axis to take the part.
Tool count is the other strength. Each turret has 12 stations, or 24 as an option, so Goodway counts up to 48 tools on the machine. Twelve stations per turret can be live. Turning length is 590 mm (23.2 in) and swing Ø200 mm (7.9 in).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Upper and lower turrets that can each serve either spindle or cut together
- Up to 48 tools with the optional 24-station turrets
- Y travel on both turrets: ±42 mm (±1.7 in) upper and ±33 mm (±1.3 in) lower
- Three bar capacities, from Ø45 mm (1.8 in) at 6,000 rpm to Ø65 mm (2.6 in) at 4,500 rpm
- 6.5 m2 footprint on a one-piece 60° slant bed
Limitations
- Swing is Ø200 mm (7.9 in), and turning diameter Ø180 mm (7.1 in) on the Ø45 mm version
- Standard spindle motor is 7.5 kW (10.1 hp) continuous
- Lower turret travels are shorter than the upper turret's in X, Y and Z
- Programming two turrets and two spindles together takes skilled staff

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The upper and lower turrets have 12 stations each as standard and 24 each as an option. Goodway states that this allows a single machine to be equipped with up to 48 tools. The table lists 12 live tooling stations per turret.
02
Three: Ø45 mm (1.8 in), Ø51 mm (2.0 in) and Ø65 mm (2.6 in). Maximum spindle speed is 6,000 rpm, 5,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm respectively. All three use 6 in chucks, and spindle 1 and spindle 2 have identical specifications.
03
Both can. Y1 on the upper turret travels ±42 mm (±1.7 in) and Y2 on the lower turret ±33 mm (±1.3 in). Goodway's feature list calls the Y-axis control optional for both turrets, while the model variation shown is Y, with live tooling turret, C-axis and Y-axis.
