Overview

The WARDJet Z-3043 is named for its cutting envelope, 3 meters by 4.3 meters. In the table that appears as 10.1' x 13.1' (3.07 m x 4 m) with one carriage and 10.1' x 14.1' (3.07 m x 4.31 m) with two.

Three metres of width is chosen for sheet counts. WARDJet says operators can load three 4x10 sheets or two 6x10 sheets at once, so a multi-head setup cuts several sheets in one program. For a job shop that mostly buys those sizes, this is the Z-Series table that removes the most loading stops.

It carries up to 7 Z-carriages, and WARDJet lists the additions it has in mind: 5-axis cutting heads, multiple cutting heads, drills, taps and height sensors, fitted as the business grows. A drill or tap on the gantry lets pierce-sensitive materials be pre-drilled and holes finished without moving the sheet to another machine.

Ball screws drive every axis. Positional accuracy is ± 0.003" per axis (± 0.08 mm per axis), repeatability ± 0.001" per axis (± 0.03 mm per axis), speed 0.01 in/min - 500 in/min based on 230 volts. The footprint is 13' x 18.7' (3.95 m x 5.7 m), the same 18.7' length as the Z-2043 with a wider frame. An 1100 lb pressurized hopper feeds abrasive, and the gantry runs on 230V, 30 amps, 3 Phase.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How many sheets fit on the Z-3043?

WARDJet states that the Z-3043 allows operators to load three 4x10 sheets or two 6x10 sheets at once. The listed one-carriage cutting area is 10.1' x 13.1' (3.07 m x 4 m).

02 What is the difference between the Z-3043 and the Z-3064?

Length and the long-axis drive. The Z-3064 has a 10.1' x 20.1' (3.07 m x 6.12 m) one-carriage cutting area and uses a helical rack and split pinion on one axis. The Z-3043 is 10.1' x 13.1' (3.07 m x 4 m) and ball screw driven in all axes.

03 Can drilling or tapping be added to the Z-3043?

WARDJet lists drills and taps among the options that can be added to the Z-3043, along with 5-axis cutting heads, multiple cutting heads and height sensors. They are options, added as needed.

04 What footprint and utilities does the Z-3043 need?

The footprint is 13' x 18.7' (3.95 m x 5.7 m). The gantry needs 230V, 30 amps, 3 Phase and 80 psi, 2 cfm (5.52 bar, 0.06 cmm) of air. The pump is not included in those figures.
