Price estimate
We do not have a price for the WardJet Z-2043 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The WARDJet Z-2043 is the narrowest Z-Series abrasive waterjet: a ball-screw gantry with a one-carriage cutting area of 6.6' x 13.1' (2.01 m x 4 m) and positions for as many as 7 Z-carriages. WARDJet presents it as the Z-Series in a space-friendly footprint, which the table gives as 9.2' x 18.7' (2.79 m x 5.7 m).
Seven carriages on a beam about two metres wide is the unusual figure. It points to the work this machine is meant for: rows of identical small parts cut by a bank of heads, with accessories added over time. WARDJet describes the design as modular, so heads and other production accessories can be fitted at purchase or later.
The cutting area is listed twice. With one carriage it is 6.6' x 13.1' (2.01 m x 4 m); with two it is 6.6' x 14.1' (2.01 m x 4.31 m). For sheet longer than either, WARDJet offers an indexing option that handles non-standard lengths.
All axes are ball screw driven. Accuracy is ± 0.003" per axis (± 0.08 mm per axis) and repeatability ± 0.001" per axis (± 0.03 mm per axis). The speed range is 0.01 in/min - 500 in/min based on 230 volts, which is modest beside WARDJet's rack-driven tables and suits abrasive cutting, where feed is set by the material. Abrasive is fed from an 1100 lb pressurized hopper. Software options are Ikuhlu, WARDCAM and IGEMS.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Up to 7 Z-carriages on a 6.6' wide table
- Ball screw driven in all axes, with ± 0.001" per axis (± 0.03 mm per axis) repeatability
- 1100 lb pressurized bulk feed hopper
- Indexing option for sheet longer than the cutting envelope
- Modular design: accessories can be added at purchase or later
Limitations
- Top speed of 500 in/min, against 900 in/min on the X-2040
- Cutting width is 6.6' (2.01 m), so plate wider than that does not fit
- The table gives no Z-axis travel
- Power is listed for the gantry only: 230V, 30 amps, 3 Phase

Frequently Asked Questions
01
With one carriage, 6.6' x 13.1' (2.01 m x 4 m). With two carriages the table lists 6.6' x 14.1' (2.01 m x 4.31 m). The footprint is 9.2' x 18.7' (2.79 m x 5.7 m).
02
The table lists a maximum of 7 Z-carriages. WARDJet says the modular design allows the machine to be tailored by adding production-increasing accessories now or at a later date.
03
WARDJet states that the cutting envelope on the Z-2043 can accommodate nearly every sheet size, including non-standard lengths with the indexing option. Indexing is an option, so it needs to be on the order.
04
Yes. WARDJet lists a Z-2043 Water-Only with the same 6.6' x 13.1' one-carriage cutting area and a sloped tank design. The abrasive Z-2043 described here has an 1100 lb pressurized bulk feed hopper.
