How much does the WardJet Z-2043 Water-Only cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the WardJet Z-2043 Water-Only that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The WARDJet Z-2043 Water-Only puts a sloped water-only tank under the Z-2043 gantry. The cutting area is 6.6' x 13.1' with one carriage and 6.6' x 14.1' with two, the gantry accepts up to 7 Z-carriages, and there is no abrasive hopper.
WARDJet gives three reasons for the sloped tank: high production, greatly reduced wetting of material, and easy waste management. All three come from the same thing. Water and offcuts run down the slope and out of the cutting zone instead of collecting under the work, so soft material stays drier and the tank does not need to be cleared by hand between loads.
Choosing this machine over WARDJet's other water-only tables is mostly a question of heads and precision. Seven carriages is more than the 4 listed for the J-128, and the ball screw drive holds ± 0.003" per axis accuracy and ± 0.001" per axis repeatability. The price of that is speed: the range is 0.01 in/min - 500 in/min based on 230 volts, and material is not fed by chain.
The footprint is 9.2' x 18.7'. WARDJet's page for this model repeats the imperial figures in its metric column, so no metric dimensions are given here. Gantry supply is 230V, 30 amps, 3 Phase with 80 psi, 2 cfm of air. As on the abrasive Z-2043, the design is modular and accessories can be added later.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Up to 7 Z-carriages for water-only cutting with many heads
- Sloped tank design for reduced wetting of material and easy waste management
- Ball screw driven in all axes: ± 0.003" per axis accuracy, ± 0.001" per axis repeatability
- 6.6' x 13.1' one-carriage cutting area in a 9.2' x 18.7' footprint
Limitations
- Speed tops out at 500 in/min; the J-128 lists 2500 in/min
- No abrasive hopper, so hard materials are out of scope
- The maker's page gives no metric dimensions for this model
- Z-axis travel is not listed

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The tank and the abrasive system. The water-only machine has a sloped tank and no bulk feed hopper. The standard Z-2043 lists an 1100 lb pressurized hopper. Cutting areas, the 7 Z-carriage limit, the ball screw drive and the 500 in/min top speed are the same.
02
WARDJet states that the sloped tank design of the water-only system allows for high production, greatly reduced wetting of material, and easy waste management. Waste moves away from the cutting zone instead of settling under the material.
03
Linear positional accuracy is ± 0.003" per axis and repeatability is ± 0.001" per axis, with ball screws on all axes. The J-128, a chain-fed water-only machine, lists ± 0.010" per axis (± 0.25 mm per axis).
04
6.6' x 13.1' with one carriage and 6.6' x 14.1' with two carriages. The footprint is 9.2' x 18.7'. WARDJet's metric column for this model repeats the same imperial values.
