Overview
The Vision Wide VB-2020 is the square member of the VB box way series, with 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of travel in both X and Y. Its table measures 2,000×1,700 mm (78.7×66.9 in) and carries 9,000 kg (19,841 lb).
A detail of the head layout matters more on the wider frame. Vision Wide describes a center-line layout of the spindle system in which the spindle sits close to the Y box way, reducing the unbalanced cutting moment and keeping the offset from thermal expansion to a minimum. On any bridge machine the cutting force acts at the tool, some distance in front of the beam. The shorter that distance, the less the head twists the beam in a heavy cut, and the less the tool point moves as the head warms.
Compared with the VB-2016, which has the same X travel, this model adds Y travel and table width and carries more: 9,000 kg against 8,000 kg (17,637 lb).
Z travel is 800 mm, or 1,020 mm as an option. Rapid traverse is 15 m/min on X, Y and Z and cutting feed 1-7,000 mm/min. The spindle is the 4,000 rpm gear type with 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp).
