How much does the Vision Wide SV-1270 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Vision Wide SV-1270 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Vision Wide SV-1270 opens the larger half of the SV vertical machining center series. Travels are 1,200 mm (47.2 in) in X, 700 mm (27.6 in) in Y and 650 mm (25.6 in) in Z, and the 1,350×650 mm (53.1×25.6 in) table is rated for 1,200 kg (2,646 lb).
That load figure is the real change. The SV-1266 has the same X travel but carries 800 kg (1,764 lb), so the SV-1270 is the first SV on which a solid mold base, rather than a plate, is a reasonable job. Y travel of 700 mm (27.6 in) also clears parts that the SV-1266, with 600 mm (23.6 in), cannot finish in one setup.
It keeps the quick axes of the smaller machines. Rapid traverse is 36 / 36 / 30 m/min, where the longer SV-1470 lists 30 / 30 / 24 m/min, and the Z axis runs without a counterbalance in the maker's design.
The spindle power row reads 7.5 / 11 kW (10.1 / 14.8 hp) with a second pair, 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp), in brackets. Vision Wide's table does not label the bracketed pair, so ask which spindle it belongs to before assuming the larger motor. Speed is 10,000 rpm as standard, with 12,000 / 15,000 rpm as the faster versions, and the magazine is listed as 24 / 32 pcs.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,200 kg (2,646 lb) table load, against 800 kg (1,764 lb) on the SV-1266 with the same X travel
- 700 mm (27.6 in) of Y travel and 650 mm (25.6 in) of Z
- 36 / 36 / 30 m/min rapids, the faster of the two rapid ratings in the series
- A second spindle power pair of 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) is printed alongside the base rating
- Coolant through spindle at 20/50bar is an available option
Limitations
- The table does not say what the bracketed 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) rating applies to
- X travel of 1,200 mm (47.2 in) is shorter than the 1,350 mm (53.1 in) table length
- Tool capacity stops at 24 / 32 pcs; the SV-1480 lists 24 / 32 / 40 pcs
- Cutting feed range is 1-10 m/min

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The maximum table load is 1,200 kg (2,646 lb) on a 1,350×650 mm (53.1×25.6 in) table. For comparison, the SV-1266 with the same X travel is rated for 800 kg (1,764 lb).
02
1,200 mm (47.2 in) in X, 700 mm (27.6 in) in Y and 650 mm (25.6 in) in Z. Rapid traverse on those axes is 36 / 36 / 30 m/min and the cutting feed range is 1-10 m/min.
03
The table prints 7.5 / 11 kW (10.1 / 14.8 hp) as the continuous and short-time rating, followed by 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) in brackets. The brackets are not explained on the page, so confirm with Vision Wide which spindle carries the higher rating.
04
Yes, as an option. The optional accessory list for the SV series includes a coolant through spindle system 20/50bar and a coolant through tool holder interface. The standard machine has air blast through the spindle and a spindle ring coolant device.
