TOS Kuřim FRPN-A 150-400

The TOS Kuřim FRPN-A 150-400 is the compact portal machine of the range: a fixed gantry and fixed cross-rail with the table moving underneath. X travel comes in three lengths, 3,000/4,000/5,000 mm (118.1/157.5/196.9 in), which makes it far shorter than the travelling-gantry series.

A moving table suits this size. The gantry never moves, so the structure that carries the spindle is as stiff as a portal can be, and the travelling mass is the table and the part. The price of that layout is floor length, since the table needs room to travel on both sides of the gantry. It also caps part weight at what the table drive and ways can carry, a figure the catalogue does not print. The maker's feature list describes the major parts as a "modern optimized composite solution", where the other gantry series list castings.

Across the portal, Y travel is 2,900 - 5,400 mm (114.2 - 212.6 in) and the columns stand 2,600 - 5,100 mm (102.4 - 200.8 in) apart. The row for the table reads "table width, carousel plate diameter" and gives 1,500 - 4,000 mm (59.1 - 157.5 in), so the moving table can itself be a carousel plate for turning. Z is 1,500/2,000 mm (59.1/78.7 in). Clearance from table to cross-rail is a single figure, 1,840 mm (72.4 in).

This is the quick one. Rapid feed up to 30 m/min is a listed feature, and the feed rows show 1 - 15,000 mm/min with 1 - 30,000 mm/min in brackets on X, Y and Z. Spindle speed is 4,000/6,000 rpm and drive power 30/37/45 kW (40/50/60 hp).
