Price estimate
We do not have a price for the TOS Kuřim FRUN-A 200-500 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The TOS Kuřim FRUN-A 200-500 is the lightest of three FRUN gantry machining centres, built with a movable gantry and a fixed cross-rail. Its ranges are wide because the machine is configured per order: table width 2,000 - 5,000 mm (78.7 - 196.9 in), Y travel 3,600 - 6,600 mm (141.7 - 259.8 in), and X travel 5,000 - 25,000 by 1,000 mm (196.9 - 984.3 by 39.4 in).
Within the FRUN family the letter sets the headstock. The A size carries 30/37/45 kW (40/50/60 hp) of drive power and a spindle listed at 4,000/6,000 rpm. That is the fastest spindle of the three and the least powerful drive. It is also the quickest machine in the axes: X and Y feed at 1 - 20,000 mm/min, with 1 - 30,000 mm/min in brackets, and Z at 1 - 15,000 mm/min with 1 - 20,000 mm/min in brackets.
Z travel is 1,500/2,000 mm (59.1/78.7 in), and the clearance between table and cross-rail is given as min. 2,450 mm (min. 96.5 in). The word "min." matters: the figure is a floor, and the actual gap is part of the configuration. Columns stand 3,000 - 6,000 mm (118.1 - 236.2 in) apart.
The workspace is listed as optional, with rotary tables and clamping plates named. Unlike the FRF, the FRUN feature list includes automatic exchange of spindle heads and tools and a choice of linear roller or hydrostatic guideways. Choose the A size when the work is finishing and medium cutting over a large area. Heavy roughing belongs to the B and C sizes.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Highest spindle speed in the FRUN family: 4,000/6,000 rpm
- X and Y feed of 1 - 20,000 mm/min, with 1 - 30,000 mm/min in brackets
- Table width configurable from 2,000 - 5,000 mm (78.7 - 196.9 in), Y from 3,600 - 6,600 mm (141.7 - 259.8 in)
- Automatic exchange of spindle heads and tools is on the series feature list
- Linear roller or hydrostatic guideways in the linear axes
Limitations
- Drive power of 30/37/45 kW (40/50/60 hp) is the lowest row in the FRUN family
- Fixed cross-rail, so there is no W axis
- Y travel stops at 6,600 mm, where the FRUN-B 200-800 lists 3,600 - 9,600 mm (141.7 - 378.0 in)
- Every dimension is a range, so nothing about the envelope is fixed until the quotation

Frequently Asked Questions
01
They are three headstock classes in one table. The FRUN-A 200-500 lists 4,000/6,000 rpm and 30/37/45 kW (40/50/60 hp). The FRUN-B 200-800 lists 4,000 rpm and 60/71 kW (80/95 hp). The FRUN-C 200-800 lists 2,500 rpm and 100/113 kW (134/152 hp).
02
Table width is 2,000 - 5,000 mm (78.7 - 196.9 in) and the clearance between columns is 3,000 - 6,000 mm (118.1 - 236.2 in). Table length follows the X travel of 5,000 - 25,000 by 1,000 mm (196.9 - 984.3 by 39.4 in). The workspace itself is optional: rotary tables or clamping plates.
03
X and Y are listed at 1 - 20,000 mm/min, with 1 - 30,000 mm/min in brackets. Z is listed at 1 - 15,000 mm/min, with 1 - 20,000 mm/min in brackets. The catalogue does not explain the bracketed values, so ask which guideway or drive option they belong to.
04
The series feature list gives linear roller or hydrostatic guideways in the linear axes. It does not say which is standard for the A size. Thermal stabilization of the headstock and exchangeable spindle heads and axial tool cooling are listed for the whole series.
