Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Thielenhaus PowerCUBE 400 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Thielenhaus PowerCUBE 400 is a compact multi-spindle belt finishing machine for shafts up to 400 mm (15.7 in) long and 4 – 50 mm (0.16 – 2.0 in) in diameter. It is built with 4 or 6 workpiece spindles, and Thielenhaus lists the machine at approx. 1,500 kg (3,307 lb).
The table calls it a plunge machine with a programmable longitudinal axis, and gives that axis a travel of max. 400 mm (15.7 in). In plunge finishing the tool is as wide as the seat, which is how the product page puts it for grooving: tool = seat width. The finishing units are Thielenhaus types SL50, KG50 or SL50-100M, with max. 2 per station for the SL50 and max. 3 for the KG50.
Spindle speed is 10 – 3,000 rpm. The control holds 99 programs with 10 freely programmable zones per spindle. That covers a family of similar shafts, though it is far less than the 500 programs and 50 zones of the CUBE evo. Loading is automated in the listed basic configuration, by a 3-axis handling with double gripper and a special pneumatic loader/unloader.
Installation needs are modest: 3 x 400 V at 50/60 Hz and 6 A, plus 1 x 6 bar of compressed air. A flushing trolley with filter cartridge belongs to the basic configuration. For the PowerCUBE the product page also mentions double loading, a loading gantry, a precoat filter, a measuring station and a cleaning station. It does not say which of them are extras, so ask.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Workpiece diameter is 4 – 50 mm (0.16 – 2.0 in) and the maximum workpiece length 400 mm (15.7 in). The programmable longitudinal axis also has max. 400 mm of travel, so the finishing units can reach seats along the whole listed length.
02
The machine data list 4 or 6 spindles. Each spindle has 10 freely programmable zones, and spindle speed is 10 – 3,000 rpm. Thielenhaus describes the PowerCUBE as a space-saving Microfinish solution with up to six horizontally arranged workpiece spindles.
03
The device configuration names SL50, KG50 and SL50-100M units. A station takes max. 2 units with the SL50 or max. 3 with the KG50. Thielenhaus's page for the CUBE series describes the process as belt finish for shaft machining.
04
The basic configuration lists a 3-axis handling with double gripper and a special pneumatic loader/unloader. The product page for the PowerCUBE additionally mentions double loading, a loading gantry and a mechanical and electrical loading/unloading interface, without saying which are standard.
05
The PowerCUBE 400 is the multi-spindle machine: 4 or 6 spindles, fixed limits of 400 mm length and 4 – 50 mm diameter, and approx. 1,500 kg. The CUBE evo is configured to customer request for workpiece size, takes max. 6 units, runs to 6,000 rpm and weighs approx. 2,300 kg with handling.
