Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Thielenhaus BearingStar 320 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Thielenhaus BearingStar 320 handles outer rings of 180 – 320 mm (7.1 – 12.6 in) outside diameter and inner rings of 100 – 270 mm (3.9 – 10.6 in) inner diameter, with ring widths of 20 – 200 mm (0.79 – 7.9 in). The width range is the figure to notice. A ring 200 mm wide is a long raceway for one stone to cover, and the machine does it on a single machining station.
One station does not mean one step. Thielenhaus lists 1- or 2-step machining, and on the 1-station machine the outer raceway and board of tapered roller inner rings. This is also the smallest BearingStar size where spherical roller bearings appear in the ring type list, next to radial, axial and angular ball bearings and cylindrical and tapered roller bearings.
Two options are aimed at wide roller raceways and finished rings. Range velocity programming for crowned or logarithmic roller raceways is one; outer diameter polishing with a belt unit is the other, adding a second process on the same machine. Both are marked optional, so neither should be assumed in a base offer.
The process figures match the BearingStar 200: 0 – 3,000 rpm at the workpiece spindle, 80 – 360 N of stone contact pressure, ±0 – 18° of oscillation angle and 0 – 6 mm (0 – 0.24 in) of linear stroke. Rings above 320 mm move to the BearingStar 650, where the spindle is limited to 1,000 rpm.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ring widths of 20 – 200 mm, far beyond the 15 – 80 mm of the BearingStar 200
- Spherical roller bearings are among the listed ring types
- Outer raceway and board for tapered roller inner rings on the 1-station machine
- Stone contact pressure of 80 – 360 N with an oscillation angle of ±0 – 18°
- Outer diameter polishing with a belt unit can be added as an option
Limitations
- Listed with 1 machining station only; the BearingStar 200 is offered with 1 or 2
- Range velocity programming for crowned or logarithmic roller raceways is optional
- Inner rings below 100 mm inner diameter are outside the range
- No weight, footprint or connection data are printed in the technical data

Frequently Asked Questions
01
1- or 2-row radial ball bearings, axial ball bearings, 1- or 2-row angular ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, tapered roller bearings and spherical roller bearings. Outer or inner rings run on one machine, and the outer raceway and board of tapered roller inner rings can be finished on the 1-station machine.
02
Ring width is 20 – 200 mm (0.79 – 7.9 in). Outer ring outside diameter is 180 – 320 mm (7.1 – 12.6 in) and inner ring inner diameter 100 – 270 mm (3.9 – 10.6 in). For wider rings the BearingStar 650 goes to 300 mm ring width.
03
Thielenhaus lists range velocity programming for crowned or logarithmic roller raceways as an option on this machine. Its product page also names spherical and logarithmic raceways and zone speed programming for the 320 series. Ask which of these the base machine includes.
04
Yes, as an option. The machining solutions list outer diameter polishing with belt unit (optional), so a ring can have its raceway stone-finished and its outside diameter polished on the same machine. The stone side works with 80 – 360 N of contact pressure.
