How much does the Takisawa TM-3000Y2 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Takisawa TM-3000Y2 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Takisawa TM-3000Y2 is a two-spindle, two-turret turning centre on a 45° slant bed, with an 8 in (203 mm) chuck, 620 mm (24.4 in) of turning length and a Y axis on both the upper and the lower turret. Each turret has 12 stations, and live tools run to 6,000 rpm.
The point of the layout is that two tools can work at once. The upper turret travels on X1, Y1 and Z1 and the lower on X2, Y2 and Z2, with the same rapids on both: 20 m/min (787 in/min) in X, 12 m/min (472 in/min) in Y and 40 m/min (1,575 in/min) in Z. Y travel is +45 to -45 mm (±1.8 in) on each turret, so either one can mill a flat or drill an off-centre hole within that band while the other keeps cutting.
The spindles are not equal, and the table is clear about it. The left spindle runs to 4,500 rpm with 15 kW (20.1 hp) at S3 25% and 11 kW (14.8 hp) continuous. The right spindle is faster and lighter: 6,000 rpm, 11 / 7.5 kW (14.8 / 10.1 hp). Heavy roughing belongs on the left, with the right taking the lighter back-side work. Live tools have 5.5 kW (7.4 hp) at S3 25% and 3.7 kW (5.0 hp) continuous, which is drilling, tapping and light milling power.
Work size is narrower than the chuck suggests. Maximum turning diameter is 215 mm (8.5 in), the usual cost of putting two turrets around the work, while bar capacity is 65 mm (2.6 in), depending on chuck and cylinder. This is a bar and small-chucker machine, and 620 mm of turning length gives room for shaft-type parts worked from both ends.
The control uses the iHMI interface on a 15 in touch panel, with a 19 in panel optional. Including the oil pan, chip conveyor and operation panel, the machine takes 4,254 × 2,460 mm (167.5 × 96.9 in) of floor, is 2,230 mm (87.8 in) high and weighs 8,300 kg (18,298 lb).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Upper and lower 12-station turrets, each with its own Y axis of +45 to -45 mm (±1.8 in)
- Z rapids of 40 m/min (1,575 in/min) on both turrets
- 65 mm (2.6 in) bar capacity with 620 mm (24.4 in) of turning length
- 6,000 rpm right spindle and 6,000 rpm live tools
- Left spindle rated 15 / 11 kW (20.1 / 14.8 hp), S3 25% against continuous
- 15 in touch panel with the iHMI interface, 19 in optional
Limitations
- Maximum turning diameter is 215 mm (8.5 in), well under the 370 mm (14.6 in) of the TS-3000
- Right spindle is rated 11 / 7.5 kW (14.8 / 10.1 hp), less than the left
- Y rapid is 12 m/min (472 in/min), against 20 m/min in X and 40 m/min in Z
- Live-tool power is 5.5 / 3.7 kW (7.4 / 5.0 hp), which limits milling to light cuts
- Y travel is limited to +45 to -45 mm (±1.8 in)

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Yes. The table lists Y travel of +45 to -45 mm (±1.8 in) for the upper turret (Y1) and the lower turret (Y2). Both rapid at 12 m/min (472 in/min) in Y. Either turret can therefore do off-centre milling and drilling while the other turret is cutting.
02
The left spindle runs to 4,500 rpm and is rated 15 / 11 kW (20.1 / 14.8 hp). The right spindle runs to 6,000 rpm and is rated 11 / 7.5 kW (14.8 / 10.1 hp). Both ratings are S3 25% against continuous. The table lists an 8 in (203 mm) chuck and a 65 mm (2.6 in) bar capacity; it gives no separate chuck size for the right spindle.
03
Maximum turning diameter is 215 mm (8.5 in) and maximum turning length is 620 mm (24.4 in). Bar capacity is 65 mm (2.6 in), subject to the chuck and cylinder. Parts larger in diameter than 215 mm will not fit, whatever the 8 in (203 mm) chuck size suggests.
04
6,000 rpm, with a motor rated 5.5 kW (7.4 hp) at S3 25% and 3.7 kW (5.0 hp) continuous. Each turret has 12 stations. The table does not say how many of those stations can drive a tool, so confirm that against the tool list for the part.
05
4,254 × 2,460 mm (167.5 × 96.9 in) of floor and 2,230 mm (87.8 in) of height, figures that include the oil pan, chip conveyor and operation panel. The machine weighs 8,300 kg (18,298 lb). A bar feeder, if used, comes on top of that length.
