Takamaz XT-8

The Takamaz XT-8 is a compact, high-speed CNC lathe purpose-built for mass production of small turned parts. The machine's core design philosophy centers on minimizing non-cutting time, with every aspect from the rapid traverse rates to the turret indexing speed and the integrated gantry loader engineered to keep chips flying and parts flowing. For shops producing tens of thousands of simple turned parts per month, the XT-8 delivers production density that few competitors can match.

The 8-inch collet chuck and 3,500 RPM spindle (with 5,000 or 3,000 RPM options) powered by an 11/7.5 kW motor provide the speed and rigidity for production-rate turning of steel, aluminum, brass, and cast iron. The 100 mm spindle bore (120 mm optional) accommodates bar feeding for continuous production. Axis travels of 190 mm on X and 400 mm on Z cover the full range of short to medium-length small parts.

The standard 8-station turret handles most simple turning operations efficiently, with a 12-station upgrade available for shops needing additional tool positions. Rapid traverse rates of 18 m/min on X and 24 m/min on Z keep tool approach and retract times to a minimum. The compact 1,600 x 1,535 mm footprint allows multiple XT-8 machines to be arranged in dense cell configurations for parallel production.

The integrated gantry loader is standard equipment, not an aftermarket add-on. It shares the Fanuc 0i-TF Plus control with the machine axes for coordinated motion and simplified programming. The complete load-machine-unload cycle runs automatically, enabling true lights-out operation for small production parts.
