How much does the STV CNC STVR5 PRO cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the STV CNC STVR5 PRO that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
STV CNC builds the STVR5 PRO as a fully welded, fully assembled router table with a 5 ft x 5 ft cutting envelope. X and Y each travel 60 in and Z travels 5.75 in. It is the square mid-size of the four PRO router tables, with gear-reduced stepper drive and a homing kit as standard.
Nothing is bolted together by the owner. STV CNC welds the tubular frame, fits the gantry and ships the table fully assembled on leveling feet, so setting up comes down to leveling it, fastening a wasteboard and connecting power and dust collection. The motors are four steppers with a 3:1 gear reduction system as standard. The integrated homing kit uses 4 proximity sensors, and it also keeps the gantry aligned. X and Y move by rack and pinion and Z by a ball lead screw, all of them on hardened and ground linear guide rails. Listed motion accuracy is plus or minus 0.005 in per 12 in, with a step resolution of 0.0005 in and a default maximum travel speed of 600 in/min.
The square 60 in bed is wide enough for 5 ft material, which the 4 ft wide tables of the range cannot take, and it lets a part be turned either way on the board. A 5 x 10 sheet still has to be halved first. With 5.75 in of maximum Z travel shared between the wasteboard, the stock and the tool, this is a table for sheet and slab work and not for tall parts.
Cutting is done by a 2.2 kW (3 HP) air-cooled spindle with a speed of 24,000 rpm. It holds tools in ER20 collets, and the 1/4 in and 1/2 in sizes ship with the table. An attached variable frequency drive sets the spindle speed from a 110 V single-phase input. The dust shoe releases magnetically for bit changes and has a 2.5 in port for the shop's own collector. Optimum CNC, the maker's control software, comes installed on a mini PC that connects by Ethernet. Plan separately for a monitor, keyboard and mouse, for the wasteboard and its fasteners, and for the dust extractor hose: none of them are included.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Fully welded tubular frame, shipped fully assembled on industrial leveling feet
- Integrated homing kit with 4 proximity sensors
- Air-cooled 2.2 kW (3 HP), 24,000 rpm spindle with an attached variable frequency drive
- 60 in of X travel takes 5 ft wide material
Limitations
- Same 2.2 kW (3 HP) spindle and 5.75 in of maximum Z travel as the modular STVR5
- Wasteboard, fasteners, dust extractor hose and display accessories have to be sourced by the buyer
- Neither a 4 x 8 nor a 5 x 10 sheet fits whole

Frequently Asked Questions
01
5 ft W x 5 ft L. X and Y travel are 60 in each and maximum Z travel is 5.75 in. Material 5 ft wide fits, which it does not on the narrower tables in the range.
02
Four stepper motors with a 3:1 gear reduction system. X and Y are rack and pinion, Z is a billet precision ball lead screw, and all three axes run on hardened and ground linear guide rails. STV CNC lists motion accuracy as plus or minus 0.005 in per 12 in and step resolution as 0.0005 in.
03
Not whole. With 60 in of travel in each direction, a 4 x 8 or 5 x 10 sheet has to be cut down before loading. Shops that want to nest on full sheets should look at the STVR8 PRO or the STVR10 PRO.
04
A wasteboard and its fasteners, a dust extractor hose for the 2.5 in dust port, and a monitor, keyboard and mouse for the mini PC. The spindle, the attached variable frequency drive, ER20 collets for 1/4 in and 1/2 in tools, the dust shoe and the Optimum CNC software come with the table.
