ShopSabre PRO EVA 510 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the ShopSabre PRO EVA 510 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from ShopSabre or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Decking for larger boats is the case for the ShopSabre PRO EVA 510. Its 72 x 125 x 12 in (1,829 x 3,175 x 305 mm) cut area lets a long cockpit floor, a swim platform or a run of helm pads be cut from one piece of EVA foam with no seams, where a 4x8 table would force a joint.

The tooling matches the PRO EVA 408: a tangential oscillating knife in ShopSabre's EVA foam configuration beside a 5 hp / 6 hp tool-change spindle with 6 positions. Grooves and reveals are routed, outlines are knife-cut, and the tool changer swaps between bits for different groove widths without stopping the job.

A table of this size raises two practical questions for foam. The first is hold-down. The packaged vacuum source is the single-phase ShopSabre F4 system, working through a phenolic top with 4 independently controlled zones. Foam seals well, so a modest pump goes a long way, but small offcuts and porous spoilboards do not, and the options list includes FPZ and Becker pumps if tests show more flow is needed. The second is reach: ShopSabre notes that the knife may reduce the working area, and on wide material every inch counts.

Motion figures are the PRO Series ones: +/- 0.001 in (0.025 mm) repeatability and 1,200 ipm (30.5 m/min) rapids from ball screws and AC servo motors, with 16 in (406 mm) of Z travel. The footprint is 93 x 156 x 93 in (2,362 x 3,962 x 2,362 mm).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 72 x 125 in (1,829 x 3,175 mm) cut area for long decking pieces without a joint
  • Tangential oscillating knife and a 6-position tool-change spindle on one head
  • Phenolic vacuum-ready tabletop with 4 independently controlled zones and pop-up pins
  • Single-phase ShopSabre F4 vacuum system in the Well Equipped list
  • Ball screw drive on every axis with AC servo motors

Limitations

  • Takes 93 x 156 in (2,362 x 3,962 mm) of floor space
  • A single F4 vacuum system serves a much larger table than on the PRO EVA 408
  • Working area with the knife fitted is not stated
  • 1,200 ipm (30.5 m/min) rapids; the IS EVA 510 lists 2,100 ipm

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How big a foam sheet fits the PRO EVA 510?

The cut area is 72 x 125 x 12 in (1,829 x 3,175 x 305 mm). ShopSabre adds that a tangential knife may reduce the working area, so the usable knife-cut area is somewhat smaller than the routing area; ask for that figure with the quote.

02 PRO EVA 510 or PRO EVA 408?

They are the same machine in two sizes. The PRO EVA 408 cuts 60 x 100 x 12 in and measures 80 x 133 x 93 in. The PRO EVA 510 cuts 72 x 125 x 12 in and measures 93 x 156 x 93 in. Choose by the longest decking piece you need to cut without a seam and by the floor space you have.

03 What is the step up to the IS EVA 510?

The IS EVA 510 lists a 2,100 ipm rapid speed, a 75 x 125 x 12 in cut area, a 10 hp tool changer with 12 tool positions and a Becker VTLF vacuum pump. The PRO EVA 510 lists 1,200 ipm, a 6-position changer and the F4 vacuum system. Both use a tangential oscillating knife.

04 Does the PRO EVA 510 route as well as knife-cut?

Yes. The Well Equipped list includes a 5 hp / 6 hp electric fan-cooled tool-change spindle with 6 ISO30 tool holders and ER32 collets, alongside the knife. Decking grooves and logos are routed with it, and the machine can run ordinary sheet work in wood and plastic.
