How much does the Sharp STC-95 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Sharp STC-95 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The STC-95 is the heaviest of Sharp's big bore CNC lathes. It swings 95 in (2413 mm) over a 49.21 in (1250 mm) bed, stands 126.0 in (3,200 mm) high and weighs 64,300 lb (29,300 kg) on the shorter bed or 66,100 lb (30,000 kg) on the longer.
Swing is the only capacity figure that grows over the STC-80. Travel does not: X is 15.75 in (400 mm) and Z is 157.48 in (4,000 mm) or 196.85 in (5,000 mm). Nor does power, with a 30 hp spindle motor as standard. The buyer is paying for clearance, the ability to rotate a part close to the full 95 in across, and for the mass and bed width to hold it steady.
That makes workholding the real engineering question. Sharp's page says double chucks are available as options and lists a rear chuck adapter, hydraulic turrets in 4-way, V-8 and V-12 forms and a tailstock base with hydraulic lock bolt, all optional. None of it is part of the base machine, so the quotation should be built around the heaviest part to be run.
There is also an STB-95 with the same swing, the lighter design of the two. The STB-95 sits on a 31.89 in (810 mm) bed with 27.56 in (700 mm) of X travel, and comes in three lengths where the STC-95 comes in two.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 95 in (2413 mm) swing, the largest Sharp lists
- 64,300 lb (29,300 kg) to 66,100 lb (30,000 kg) of machine weight
- 49.21 in (1250 mm) bed with multiple guides
- Spindle supported by one ball bearing and two tapered roller bearings
- Z-axis travel covers the full 196.85 in (5,000 mm) on the STC-95200
Limitations
- 126.0 in (3,200 mm) high, before crane hook height
- X travel stays at 15.75 in (400 mm)
- Standard motor is 30 hp; 40 hp or 50 hp are options
- Roll cutting diameter rows are not consistent on Sharp's page

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Swing over the bed is 95 in (2413 mm). The machine is 150.4 in (3,820 mm) wide and 126.0 in (3,200 mm) high; length with chip conveyor is 320.9 in (8,150 mm) for the shorter bed and 360.2 in (9,150 mm) for the longer.
02
The STC-95 has a 49.21 in (1250 mm) bed, 15.75 in (400 mm) of X travel and two lengths. The STB-95 has a 31.89 in (810 mm) bed, 27.56 in (700 mm) of X travel, three lengths up to 236.22 in (6,000 mm) between centers and a height of 115.4 in (2,931 mm).
03
157.48 in (4,000 mm) on the STC-95160 or 196.85 in (5,000 mm) on the STC-95200. Those figures are the distance between centers, the maximum cutting length and the Z-axis travel alike, since the tailstock runs on bedways separate from the cross slide.
04
The table lists 6 in (152 mm), 9 in (230 mm), 10 in (255 mm), 12 in (305 mm) and 15 in (380 mm). Sharp's feature text repeats those five sizes and notes that double chucks are available as options.
