How much does the Seibu M75HP cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Seibu M75HP that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Seibu lists the M75HP as the precision-class machine of its 750×500 size: a water-specification wire EDM with 750 × 500 × 310 mm (29.5 × 19.7 × 12.2 in) of axis travel. The ultra-precision MM75UP sits beside it with the same travel, the same 2,280 × 2,410 × 2,100 mm (89.8 × 94.9 × 82.7 in) outline and the same 5,600 kg (12,346 lb) weight.
What does the published table say is different? One row. The M75HP runs wire from Φ0.07 to Φ0.30 mm, where the MM75UP goes down to Φ0.05 mm. Seibu's page gives no accuracy figures for either class, so the gap between a precision and an ultra-precision machine has to be asked for in writing; it cannot be read off the web table.
In capacity nothing is given up. The machine accepts a workpiece of 900 × 850 × 300 mm (35.4 × 33.5 × 11.8 in) and 1,000 kg (2,205 lb). Taper is ±10° at a work thickness of 300 mm, U-V travel is ±60 × ±60 mm (±2.4 × ±2.4 in), and ±45° at 40 mm (1.6 in) is available as an option. Φ0.2 mm wire is the standard fit.
The electrical side is common to the range: Smart NC control and the MPSC-20 power supply, here with the MF75-01 filtration device. Seibu's sample for this group of machines, a combination cut in 60 mm thick SKD11, records Ra 0.25 µm and Rz 2.00 µm after a cutting time of 50 hours. A shop whose smallest slots and corner radii are within reach of Φ0.07 mm wire loses nothing on paper by choosing this model.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Same 750 × 500 × 310 mm (29.5 × 19.7 × 12.2 in) travel as the ultra-precision MM75UP
- Takes a 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) workpiece up to 900 × 850 × 300 mm (35.4 × 33.5 × 11.8 in)
- ±10° taper rated at a 300 mm (11.8 in) work thickness
- Wire from Φ0.07 to Φ0.30 mm, with Φ0.2 mm as standard
- Smart NC control and MPSC-20 power supply, as on the rest of Seibu's wire EDM range
Limitations
- Minimum wire is Φ0.07 mm; the MM75UP runs Φ0.05 mm
- Classed by Seibu as a precision machine, one class below the ultra-precision MM75UP, with no published figure for the difference
- Steep taper cutting (±45° at 40 mm (1.6 in)) is an option
- Weighs 5,600 kg (12,346 lb), the same as the MM75UP, so the lower class saves nothing on foundations or rigging

Frequently Asked Questions
01
No. Both have 750 × 500 × 310 mm (29.5 × 19.7 × 12.2 in) of axis travel, the same 900 × 850 × 300 mm (35.4 × 33.5 × 11.8 in) maximum workpiece and the same 5,600 kg (12,346 lb) machine weight. The M75HP is the precision-class version and the MM75UP the ultra-precision one.
02
Seibu lists Φ0.2 mm as standard and a range of Φ0.07 to Φ0.30 mm. The lower limit is the only row of the table that differs from the MM75UP, which is listed down to Φ0.05 mm.
03
Seibu's page shows a combination cut for the SMM80B, MM-UP and M-HP group in 60 mm thick SKD11, with a surface finish of Ra 0.25 µm and Rz 2.00 µm and a cutting time of 50 hours. It is a sample result for the group, not a guaranteed figure for the M75HP.
04
Yes. The standard rating is ±10° at a work thickness of 300 mm (11.8 in), using U-V axes with ±60 × ±60 mm (±2.4 × ±2.4 in) of travel. For steeper walls Seibu lists ±45° at 40 mm (1.6 in) as an option.
