Overview
The GF Machining Solutions AgieCharmilles CUT F 600 is the larger-travel model in GF's CUT F series, extending the thermal-stability-focused design philosophy to a substantially bigger work envelope. With X/Y/Z travels of 600 x 400 x 350 mm, the CUT F 600 handles medium-size die plates, larger mold inserts, and multi-feature tooling that exceeds the 350 x 250 mm reach of the CUT F 350.
The CUT F 600 retains the Thermal Compensation System (TCS) that defines the CUT F series — continuously monitoring machine structure temperature and applying real-time positional corrections to maintain dimensional accuracy through shop temperature fluctuations. On a larger-travel machine, thermal compensation becomes even more important, as thermal expansion effects are proportionally larger across greater axis distances.
Maximum workpiece dimensions of 1030 x 800 x 350 mm with a 1,000 kg weight capacity position the CUT F 600 for production-scale work: progressive die plates, medium injection mold frames, multi-cavity connector tooling, and precision fixture assemblies. The 350 mm Z-travel is a significant improvement over the CUT F 350's 250 mm, enabling taller workpieces including thick die plates and stacked assemblies.
Surface finish capability matches the CUT F 350 at Ra 0.14 µm on carbide and Ra 0.18 µm on steel. Wire diameter range is 0.10 to 0.30 mm, U/V travel is ±50 mm, and taper cutting reaches ±30° at 50 mm height. The machine footprint of 2160 x 3400 mm accommodates the larger frame while remaining manageable for most shop floor layouts.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 600 x 400 mm travel handles medium-size die plates and mold inserts with thermal stability
- Thermal Compensation System ensures accuracy across shop temperature fluctuations on a larger platform
- 1,000 kg workpiece capacity accommodates progressive die plates and heavier tooling
- 350 mm Z-travel handles taller workpieces than the CUT F 350's 250 mm
- 0.10 mm minimum wire diameter supports fine-detail cutting on larger parts
- Cost-effective positioning between compact CUT F 350 and production CUT P series
Limitations
- ±30° taper limited to 50 mm height — less taper capability than CUT P and CUT 2000/3000 series
- Surface finish (Ra 0.18 µm on steel) is not mirror-class compared to CUT S series
- Larger footprint (2160 x 3400 mm) requires more floor space than compact models
- Does not include IPG generator — relies on standard Advanced Power Circuit generator

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The CUT F 600 offers substantially more travel (600 x 400 mm vs 350 x 250 mm), taller Z-axis (350 mm vs 250 mm), and higher workpiece capacity (1,000 kg vs 400 kg). Choose the F 600 when your work regularly includes medium-size die plates, thicker workpieces, or multi-feature tooling exceeding the F 350 envelope.
02
Thermal expansion effects are proportional to distance. On a 600 mm axis, a 5 degree C temperature change causes more absolute positional drift than on a 350 mm axis. The TCS is therefore even more valuable on the CUT F 600, maintaining consistent accuracy across the larger travel range through real-time thermal corrections.
03
Yes. The CUT F 600 includes automatic wire threading, the AC CUT technology database for reliable parameter selection, and 1,000 kg workpiece capacity for substantial production tooling. For higher-volume production with advanced IPG generator technology, consider the CUT P 550 Pro as a step-up option.
04
The 350 mm Z-travel defines the maximum workpiece height. Parts up to 350 mm tall can be wire-cut with full Z-axis positioning. For taller parts, the CUT P 550 Pro offers 400 mm Z-travel, and the CUT P 800 Pro offers 510 mm.
