Seibu MM75UP — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Seibu MM75UP that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Seibu or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Seibu MM75UP is an ultra-precision, water-specification wire EDM with an axis travel range of 750 × 500 × 310 mm (29.5 × 19.7 × 12.2 in). It carries the heaviest workpiece in Seibu's wire EDM tables, 1,000 kg (2,205 lb), and accepts work up to 900 × 850 × 300 mm (35.4 × 33.5 × 11.8 in).

Height is the point of this size. The third axis and the 300 mm (11.8 in) workpiece height let it cut tall die blocks and stacked plates, and the ±10° taper rating applies at a work thickness of 300 mm. The larger SuperMM80B has longer strokes at 800 × 600 × 230 mm (31.5 × 23.6 × 9.1 in) but stops at a 150 mm (5.9 in) workpiece height and 600 kg (1,323 lb). Tall or heavy work belongs here. Wide, thin plates belong there.

Wire choice is broad. Φ0.2 mm is standard and the listed range is Φ0.05 to Φ0.30 mm, so one machine can cut a thick section and still run fine wire for small inside corners. That bottom figure is what separates it from the M75HP, which shares every other row of the table and starts at Φ0.07 mm. A ±45° taper at 40 mm (1.6 in) is an option, on U-V axes that travel ±60 × ±60 mm (±2.4 × ±2.4 in).

Seibu lists the control as Smart NC, the power supply as MPSC-20 and the filtration device as MF75-01. The machine measures 2,280 × 2,410 × 2,100 mm (89.8 × 94.9 × 82.7 in) and weighs 5,600 kg (12,346 lb), so check floor loading and the route into the shop before ordering.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) maximum workpiece weight, the highest in Seibu's wire EDM tables
  • Workpieces up to 300 mm (11.8 in) tall, with the ±10° taper rating given at that thickness
  • Wire range of Φ0.05 to Φ0.30 mm covers fine-corner work and thick sections on one machine
  • 750 × 500 × 310 mm (29.5 × 19.7 × 12.2 in) axis travel range
  • ±45° taper at 40 mm (1.6 in) is available as an option

Limitations

  • The 5,600 kg (12,346 lb) machine weight needs a suitable floor and rigging plan
  • The ±45° taper is an option, not part of the standard machine
  • No automatic wire feeding row appears in this model's table, unlike the SuperMM80B, whose table lists AWF-4 as standard
  • Seibu's product page gives no accuracy or surface-finish figure specific to this model

Best For

Tall die blocks up to 300 mm (11.8 in) Heavy workpieces up to 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) Jobs that mix Φ0.05 mm fine wire with thick-section cutting Die and mould work within a 750 × 500 mm stroke

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the difference between the MM75UP and the M75HP?

On Seibu's product page the two tables match except for one row. The MM75UP runs wire from Φ0.05 to Φ0.30 mm and the M75HP from Φ0.07 mm. Seibu also classes the MM75UP as an ultra-precision machine and the M75HP as a precision machine, but the page gives no accuracy figures that put a number on that difference.

02 How heavy a workpiece can the MM75UP hold?

The maximum workpiece weight is 1,000 kg (2,205 lb) and the maximum workpiece size is 900 × 850 × 300 mm (35.4 × 33.5 × 11.8 in). No other wire EDM on Seibu's product page lists a higher weight; the larger SuperMM80B is limited to 600 kg (1,323 lb).

03 What taper can the MM75UP cut in a tall workpiece?

Seibu rates it at ±10° for a work thickness of 300 mm (11.8 in). A ±45° taper at 40 mm (1.6 in) is listed as an option. The U-V axes that tilt the wire travel ±60 × ±60 mm (±2.4 × ±2.4 in).

04 What control and power supply does the MM75UP use?

The table names the control device as Smart NC and the power supply as MPSC-20, the same pair listed for every wire EDM on Seibu's product page. The filtration device for this size is the MF75-01.

05 How much space does the MM75UP need?

The listed dimensions are 2,280 × 2,410 × 2,100 mm (89.8 × 94.9 × 82.7 in) and the weight is 5,600 kg (12,346 lb). Seibu's page does not state service clearances or utility requirements, so ask for the installation drawing before preparing the floor.
