Niigata HN800-V — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Niigata HN800-V that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Niigata or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Niigata HN800-V is an 800 mm pallet horizontal machining center built on V-shaped slideways. Niigata describes it as the first machining center to adopt its V-slide system, and the claim it attaches to the design is geometric: consistent positioning accuracy across the whole machining area, not only near the middle of the strokes.

The reasoning is straightforward. On a flat box way there has to be a small clearance at the side gibs, and that clearance lets a slide yaw. A V-shaped way is seated by the weight of the unit itself, so the sliding parts are constrained without a gap and attitude errors such as yawing are suppressed. Niigata uses a VV guide surface on the Z axis and a V-and-flat arrangement on X. The ways are hardened, the mating surfaces are hand-scraped, and the slide material is chosen for low wear and vibration damping.

In capacity the machine mirrors the HN80E. Travels are 1,530 mm (60.2 in), 1,230 mm (48.4 in) and 1,020 mm (40.2 in); the pallet carries 2,500 kg (5,511 lb); the workpiece can reach φ1,750 mm × 1,400 mm. The spindle is a high-torque gear spindle with BT50 tooling, 6,000 min-1 and 1,948 N·m (1,437 lb-ft).

Where it departs from its sibling is traverse speed. The HN800-V rapids at 50 m/min (1,969 ipm), which Niigata highlights as notable for a sliding-guide machine. The tool magazine holds 62 tools as standard, with chain options up to 263 tools and matrix options up to 230. Indexing is 1°, or 0.001° as an option.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • V-slide guideways constrain the slides without clearance, suppressing yaw across the full stroke
  • 50 m/min (1,969 ipm) rapid traverse on a sliding-guide machine
  • 1,948 N·m (1,437 lb-ft) gear spindle with BT50 tooling
  • 2,500 kg (5,511 lb) pallet load and φ1,750 mm × 1,400 mm workpiece
  • Chain magazine options up to 263 tools

Limitations

  • Spindle speed is 6,000 min-1 and the table lists no high-speed alternative for this model
  • 0.001° indexing is an option; 1° is standard
  • Z travel of 1,020 mm is shorter than the 1,220 mm of the HPN800
06

Best For

Large precision housings where bore positions must hold at the ends of the travels Heavy cutting of difficult materials combined with tight positional tolerances Parts up to φ1,750 mm × 1,400 mm and 2,500 kg Long production runs where slideway wear would otherwise shift geometry

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the V-slide system on the Niigata HN800-V?

It is a slideway with a V-shaped cross-section. Niigata explains that the V shape and the weight of the unit provide a gap-free constraint on the sliding parts, which suppresses attitude errors such as yawing. The Z axis uses a VV guide surface and the X axis a V-shaped and flat guide surface.

02 How does the HN800-V differ from the HN80E?

The envelope, pallet load, tool shank and 1,948 N·m torque are the same on both machines. The HN800-V replaces square slides with V-slides and rapids at 50 m/min, where the HN80E rapids at 40 m/min. The HN800-V also lists a 263-tool chain magazine option.

03 What are the travels and capacity of the HN800-V?

X travel is 1,530 mm, Y is 1,230 mm and Z is 1,020 mm. The 800 mm × 800 mm pallet carries 2,500 kg (5,511 lb), and the largest workpiece is φ1,750 mm in swing by 1,400 mm in height.

04 What spindle is fitted to the HN800-V?

A geared high-torque spindle with a maximum speed of 6,000 min-1, a maximum torque of 1,948 N·m (1,437 lb-ft) and a BT50 tool shank. The specification table for this model shows no optional spindle.
