Overview

The Pinnacle PK-L210C/DMY combines Pinnacle's larger lathe spindle with driven tools and a Y axis: an A2-8 nose, Ø77 mm (Ø3.0 in) of bar capacity and a 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp) motor in front of a 12-station VDI 30 turret.

It is the heavier-duty of the two MY machines. The PK-L210A/BMY has the A2-6 spindle with Ø65 mm (Ø2.6 in) of bar capacity, 45 - 4,500 rpm and a 20 kVA supply; this model runs 35 - 3,500 rpm and needs 30 kVA. Chucks are listed as 10 in and 12 in. The weight difference is small, 5,600 kg (12,346 lb) here against 5,500 kg (12,125 lb) for the PK-L210A/BMY.

For milling, the turret offers driven tools at an M function speed of 5,000 rpm and a Y axis of 80 mm (3.1 in), ±40 mm. Pinnacle presents the Y axis as a way to do eccentric operations and cut machining time on complex parts. The C axis positions in 0.001 degree steps for drilling at set angular positions. Boring bars up to Ø32 mm (Ø1.3 in) fit the turret.

Turning capacity is Ø330 mm (Ø13.0 in) by 570 mm (22.4 in), under a Ø750 mm (Ø29.5 in) swing over the bed. The spindle has radiation fins and exhaust holes for heat removal, which Pinnacle ties to accuracy and spindle life. A programmable tailstock on an MT4 taper supports longer parts. The machine measures 3.8 x 1.7 x 2.3 m.
