Overview

The Pinnacle L210D carries the largest chuck in the L210 range, 12 in, on the A2-8 spindle with a 15 / 18.5 kW (20.1 / 24.8 hp) motor. It is the heaviest of the four at 4,300 kg (9,480 lb).

A 12 in chuck on this bed is a tight fit, and the figures show how. Swing over the cross slide is Ø360 mm (Ø14.2 in) and the standard turning diameter is Ø290 mm (Ø11.4 in), so the chuck body is larger than the standard turning diameter. Jaw and part diameters need checking against the turret before a job is quoted. Maximum turning diameter is Ø440 mm (Ø17.3 in).

The speed range starts lower than on any other L210: 30 - 3,500 rpm, where the L210C with the same spindle is listed from 35 rpm. A lower minimum suits facing cuts at big diameters.

Bar capacity is Ø77 mm (Ø3.0 in) through an Ø88 mm (Ø3.5 in) bore, though a machine with this chuck will mostly see castings, forgings and sawn blanks. Shaft work has 610 mm (24.0 in) between centers and an MT4 tailstock. The turret takes 25 x 25 mm O.D. tools and 40 mm boring tools in 10 stations. Supply is 30 kVA and the outline is 2.7 x 1.6 x 1.8 m.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What chuck does the Pinnacle L210D have?

A 12 in chuck on an A2-8 spindle nose. The hydraulic chuck is controlled by a foot switch. The other L210 models are listed with smaller chucks: 8 in on the L210A and 10 in on the L210B and L210C.

02 What is the largest diameter the L210D can turn?

Maximum turning diameter is Ø440 mm (Ø17.3 in) and standard turning diameter is Ø290 mm (Ø11.4 in). Swing over the bed is Ø520 mm (Ø20.5 in) and over the cross slide Ø360 mm (Ø14.2 in). Turning length is 610 mm (24.0 in).

03 How does the L210D differ from the L210C?

The L210D has a 12 in chuck, a 30 - 3,500 rpm speed range and weighs 4,300 kg (9,480 lb). The L210C has a 10 in chuck, 35 - 3,500 rpm and weighs 4,200 kg (9,259 lb). Spindle nose, bore, bar capacity, motor and power requirement are the same.

04 Can the L210D take bar stock?

Yes. Bar capacity is Ø77 mm (Ø3.0 in) and the hole through the spindle is Ø88 mm (Ø3.5 in). Cutting feed is 0.016 ~ 5,000 mm/min and the 10-station turret indexes in 0.13 sec tool to tool.
