We do not have a price for the Pinnacle PK-L150A that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Pinnacle PK-L150A is a compact CNC turning center for small chucked and bar-fed parts: a 6 in chuck on an A2-5 spindle, Ø42 mm (Ø1.7 in) of bar capacity and a turning length of 150 mm (5.9 in). It weighs 2,100 kg (4,630 lb) and occupies 1.8 x 1.4 x 1.65 m.
Short travels define what it does. X is 150 mm (5.9 in) and Z is 280 mm (11.0 in), with rapids of 15 / 15 m/min, so the slide is never far from the next cut. Maximum turning diameter is Ø250 mm (Ø9.8 in) and the standard turning diameter is Ø190 mm (Ø7.5 in), inside a Ø330 mm (Ø13.0 in) swing over the bed. Pinnacle's table lists no tailstock for this model, which fits the short Z: work is held in the chuck or fed through the Ø52 mm (Ø2.0 in) spindle bore.
The spindle runs 45 - 6,000 rpm on a 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) motor, the highest speed among Pinnacle's lathes; the L210A tops out at 4,500 rpm. Tooling is an 8-station turret that indexes in 0.15 sec tool to tool and takes □20 mm (□0.8 in) shank tools and Ø20 mm (Ø0.8 in) boring bars. Pinnacle also describes a combination of turret and gang type tool slide for this machine.
The structure is Meehanite cast iron with hardened and ground slideways, and both axes use class C3 ball screws. A foot switch controls the hydraulic chuck. Services are modest: 15 kVA and air at 6 kg/cm².

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 45 - 6,000 rpm spindle with a 5.5 / 7.5 kW (7.4 / 10.1 hp) motor for small-diameter work
- Ø42 mm (Ø1.7 in) bar capacity through a Ø52 mm (Ø2.0 in) spindle bore
- 8-station turret indexing in 0.15 sec tool to tool
- Small outline of 1.8 x 1.4 x 1.65 m at 2,100 kg (4,630 lb)
- Runs on a 15 kVA supply with air at 6 kg/cm²
Limitations
- Turning length is only 150 mm (5.9 in), with 280 mm (11.0 in) of Z travel
- No tailstock is listed in Pinnacle's table for this model, so long slender parts are out
- The 6 in chuck and A2-5 nose keep it to small workpieces; standard turning diameter is Ø190 mm (Ø7.5 in)
- Eight turret stations with □20 mm (□0.8 in) tools leave little room for long tool lists

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum turning diameter is Ø250 mm (Ø9.8 in), standard turning diameter is Ø190 mm (Ø7.5 in) and maximum turning length is 150 mm (5.9 in). Swing over the bed is Ø330 mm (Ø13.0 in) and swing over the cross slide is Ø180 mm (Ø7.1 in).
02
The table lists Ø42 mm (Ø1.7 in) of bar capacity and a Ø52 mm (Ø2.0 in) hole through the spindle. Pinnacle's feature text puts it as a capacity of 42/52mm for the bars, together with a 10 HP spindle motor.
03
Pinnacle's specification table gives no tailstock taper, quill or travel for the PK-L150A. The larger L210A lists an MT4 tailstock with 470 mm (18.5 in) of travel, so that is the model to look at for shaft work between centers.
04
The spindle range is 45 - 6,000 rpm. Rapid speed is 15 / 15 m/min on X and Z, cutting feed is 0.016 ~ 6,000 mm/min, and the turret indexes in 0.15 sec tool to tool. Travels are 150 mm (5.9 in) in X and 280 mm (11.0 in) in Z.
