How much does the Penta Laser BOLT CUBE 4020 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Penta Laser BOLT CUBE 4020 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Between the two ends of Penta Laser's 3D range sits the BOLT CUBE 4020, a 5-axis fiber laser cutting machine with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X travel and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y travel. Z travel is 680 mm (26.8 in). It is built for one kind of work, the trimming and hole cutting of automotive hot-formed parts.
What the middle size buys is room. Against the BOLT CUBE 3015, with its 3,000 mm (118.1 in) by 1,500 mm (59.1 in), there is enough extra table to hold a longer pressing or to set two smaller fixtures side by side. The BOLT CUBE 4525 goes further again with 4,500 mm (177.2 in) by 2,500 mm (98.4 in).
Nothing else in the table changes with size. Axis speed stays at 173 m/min and acceleration at 1.2 G. The B axis covers ±135°, the C axis is n × 360°, and both rotate at 720°/s. A V axis of ±12 mm (±0.5 in) is listed as well.
The frame is a dual-drive gantry with direct-drive cutting heads, rack-and-pinion drive and high-resolution rotary encoders. Control is Penta Laser's Smart Manager CNC, which handles dual NC files, data display and online editing. Check the option list before ordering: the fixture interface, magnetic scrap conveyor, double monitor, on-board Penta 3D Editor and CE compliance are all optional configurations.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y, against 3,000 mm (118.1 in) and 1,500 mm (59.1 in) on the BOLT CUBE 3015
- Same 173 m/min axis speed and 1.2 G acceleration as the smaller machine, so the larger envelope does not slow positioning
- Continuous C axis (n × 360°) with a B axis of ±135°
- Smart Manager CNC supports dual NC files, data display and online editing
- High-rigidity frame with dual-drive gantry and rack-and-pinion drive
Limitations
- Z travel remains 680 mm (26.8 in), no more than on the BOLT CUBE 3015, so the added X and Y do not help with taller parts
- Parts wider than 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in Y need the BOLT CUBE 4525
- The fixture interface and magnetic scrap conveyor are optional configurations
- No positioning accuracy or repeatability figure appears in the published table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Only in X and Y travel. The BOLT CUBE 4020 has 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y, where the BOLT CUBE 3015 has 3,000 mm (118.1 in) and 1,500 mm (59.1 in). Z travel, the head axes, the speeds and the accelerations are identical.
02
The B axis travels ±135° and the C axis is listed as n × 360°, meaning it rotates without a stop. Both axes have a maximum speed of 720°/s and a maximum acceleration of 5,400°/s².
03
Penta Laser describes the series as designed for automotive hot-formed components, mainly cutting holes and trimming edges. The 4,000 × 2,000 mm (157.5 × 78.7 in) X and Y travel and the 680 mm (26.8 in) Z travel set the size of part and fixture it can reach.
04
Not as listed. The magnetic scrap conveyor is one of the optional configurations, along with the fixture interface, the double monitor, the Penta 3D Editor on board and CE compliance.
