Overview
The Palmary OCA-3265 is the 650 mm (25.6 in) model of Palmary's CNC angular cylindrical grinders. Swing over the table is Ø320 mm (12.6 in) and the largest ground diameter Ø300 mm (11.8 in). Like the rest of the OCA line it grinds diameters and shoulders together with an angled wheelhead.
Length is what it adds. The table stroke jumps from the 750 mm (29.5 in) of the OCA-3235 to 1,200 mm (47.2 in), so a shaft with ground features at both ends can be worked by moving the wheel from one group of steps to the next. Weight goes up accordingly, to 6,800 kg (14,991 lb).
That is a heavy machine for a 150 kg (331 lb) workpiece, and deliberately so: the mass is there to absorb the forces of a Ø610 mm wheel cutting across as much as 150 mm of width with 11 kW (14.8 hp) behind it. The wheel slide is hydro-static and has a 360 mm (14.2 in) stroke.
The table swivels from -1° to 8°. The workhead swivels 0° to +90° and its spindle is variable from 0 to 300 rpm. Palmary supplies a FANUC CNC controller, a fully enclosed splash guard, a taper fine adjustment tailstock, an X-axis linear scale and a cantilever crane for wheel changes. Coolant capacity is 230 L (60.8 gal), and the optional magnetic separator and paper filter are both rated 80 L/min.
