Overview
The Onsrud F62S is the compact 5-axis router of the S-Series: a 60 in (1,524 mm) by 60 in (1,524 mm) moving table under a fixed bridge, with a 5-axis head on an 18 hp (13.4 kW), 24,000 rpm spindle. Standard Z-stroke is 28 in (711 mm).
A square five-foot table with 28 in of Z describes a cube-like working space, and that shapes the work. Thermoformed parts, small moulds, composite lay-ups and furniture components that need trimming and drilling on every face are set up once and machined from all directions, as Onsrud puts it, without repositioning.
The table has 1 vacuum zone. For 5-axis trimming most parts sit on a dedicated fixture anyway, so the single zone usually feeds that fixture.
