Onsrud 145A — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Onsrud 145A that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Onsrud or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

With a table of 145 in (3,683 mm) by 61 in (1,549 mm), the Onsrud 145A is the larger A-Series router and the one that takes a full-width, long sheet in a single setup. It shares everything else with the series: a 6 hp (4.5 kW) spindle, 24,000 rpm, an 8 in (203 mm) Z-stroke and programmable feed rates up to 1,000 ipm (25.4 m/min).

The bigger table adds a third vacuum zone, 3 as standard against 2 on the 97A. That is useful on a table this long, because a short part can be held at one end without pulling vacuum across the whole surface. Machine length grows to 218 in (5,537 mm) and width to 102 in (2,591 mm); height stays at 83 in (2,108 mm).

What does not grow is the spindle. A 6 hp motor on a table this size means the 145A is a sheet-processing machine for the materials Onsrud lists for the series, wood, foam, plastic, ACM and other composites, and not a heavy-cut machine. The maker points buyers who need more to its M-Series.

Tooling needs a decision at order. The automatic tool changer is optional, in 10- or 12-position configurations. Power can be single-phase or three-phase, and Onsrud notes that some options require three-phase.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Table of 145 in (3,683 mm) by 61 in (1,549 mm), the larger of the two A-Series sizes
  • 3 vacuum zones as standard against 2 on the 97A
  • Same 83 in (2,108 mm) machine height as the smaller table, so ceiling clearance does not change
  • Single-phase or three-phase connection, with feed rates programmable up to 1,000 ipm (25.4 m/min)

Limitations

  • A 6 hp (4.5 kW) spindle on a table this long limits depth of cut in dense material
  • The automatic tool changer is an option in 10- or 12-position form
  • Only 8 in (203 mm) of Z-stroke
  • Machine length of 218 in (5,537 mm) takes the series out of the smallest shop spaces

Best For

Long sheets and panels up to 145 in (3,683 mm) Sign, foam and plastic work that needs table area more than spindle power Small shops on single-phase power that outgrow the 97A table

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the 145A differ from the 97A?

Table and footprint. The 145A table is 145 in (3,683 mm) by 61 in (1,549 mm) with 3 vacuum zones; the 97A is 97 in (2,464 mm) by 49 in (1,245 mm) with 2. The spindle, speed and 8 in (203 mm) Z-stroke are the same on both.

02 What spindle is on the Onsrud 145A?

The A-Series standard is a 6 hp (4.5 kW) spindle that runs to 24,000 rpm. Onsrud's page shows no larger spindle for this series and directs heavier work to the M-Series instead.

03 Which tool changer can be fitted to the 145A?

An automatic tool changer is optional and comes in 10- or 12-position configurations. Onsrud states that the 12-position changer is available on its larger A-Series tables; confirm for this table size when ordering.

04 What are the overall dimensions of the 145A?

218 in (5,537 mm) long, 102 in (2,591 mm) wide and 83 in (2,108 mm) high. The 97A is 170 in (4,318 mm) long, so check the layout again with sheet loading space included if you are moving up a size.
