Overview
With two material stop zones and 10-12 clamps, the Onsrud 265EX is the first EX-Series length that can run pendulum-style on extrusions. It is a 5-axis machining center, 418 in (10,618 mm) long, with a 33 hp (24.6 kW), 24,000 rpm spindle.
Two stop zones change the workflow. A profile is located and clamped in one zone and machined while the operator loads the other. Or one long profile uses both. The clamp count is printed as a range, 10-12, so the number fitted is part of the quotation.
The cross-section the machine accepts is the series work area, 21 x 14 in (533 x 356 mm). Z-stroke is 40 in (1,016 mm). Machine width is 147 in (3,734 mm) and height 189 in (4,801 mm).
Onsrud describes a rigid double-column steel frame and a servo-driven clamping system designed for the series.
