Onsrud 169G — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Onsrud 169G that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Onsrud or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Fourteen feet of table and 28 in (711 mm) of Z: the Onsrud 169G is the second size in the tall-stroke block of the 3-axis G-Series. Onsrud lists the table at 169 in (4,293 mm) by 61 in (1,550 mm), with 4 vacuum zones.

Four zones suggest two working halves of about seven feet each. For short, tall workpieces that is a practical pendulum arrangement. One block is machined while the next is set up at the other end, and neither setup waits for the other.

The machine is 275 in (6,985 mm) long, 142 in (3,607 mm) wide and 155 in (3,937 mm) high. Those last two figures are shared by every five-foot-wide model with this stroke, so within the group only the length changes from size to size. Against the 193G, the low-stroke machine of similar frame length, the 169G has a table two feet shorter.

The head is standard G-Series: one spindle of 18 hp (13.4 kW), 24,000 rpm, 12 tools. Deep cuts with long tools ask more of a spindle than sheet nesting does. If the work is dense plastic or aluminum plate at depth, the 24 hp (17.9 kW) option is worth specifying from the start.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How large is the table on the Onsrud 169G?

169 in (4,293 mm) in X by 61 in (1,550 mm) in Y, with 4 vacuum zones as standard. That is a fourteen-foot bed one five-foot sheet wide.

02 Why is the 169G table shorter than the 193G table?

Onsrud's table gives the 28 in machines shorter tables than the low-stroke machines of the same frame class. The 193G lists 192.5 in (4,890 mm); the 169G lists 169 in (4,293 mm). The maker's page does not explain the difference.

03 What are the outside dimensions of the 169G?

275 in (6,985 mm) long, 142 in (3,607 mm) wide and 155 in (3,937 mm) high. The height applies to the 28 in Z-stroke, which is the only stroke listed for this code.

04 Does the 169G use the same control as other G-Series machines?

Yes. Onsrud names a FANUC controller as the standard for the G-Series, with its own touchscreen interface as the alternative. No control model number is given on the series page.
