Onsrud 122C — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Onsrud 122C that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Onsrud or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Square twin tables define the Onsrud 122C: two of them, each 60 in (1,524 mm) by 60 in (1,524 mm), under the fixed bridge of a 3-axis C-Series machine. The standard spindle is 18 hp (13.4 kW) and runs to 24,000 rpm.

Onsrud describes the C-Series as a machining center for dense materials and credits its weight and rigidity for fast feeds and deep cuts per pass. The 122C is the middle size. Against the 98C it has longer tables in X, and it grows only in width, to 241 in (6,122 mm). Length, 129 in (3,277 mm), and height, 132 in (3,353 mm), are unchanged.

There are 2 vacuum zones, one per table. That is adequate when each table carries one fixture or one sheet, and thin for nested small parts.

A second spindle turns the twin tables into two workstations cutting at the same time. Onsrud presents this as dual process capability, comparable to a second machine without the floor space. Other upgrades are a 24 hp (17.9 kW) spindle, a second tool changer beside the standard 12-tool unit, and Z-strokes of 16 in (406 mm), 28 in (711 mm) or 40 in (1,016 mm) in place of 11 in (279 mm).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Two 60 in (1,524 mm) square tables on independent axes
  • Second spindle option for cutting on both tables at once
  • Same 129 in (3,277 mm) machine length as the smaller 98C
  • Four Z-strokes to choose from, 11 in (279 mm) to 40 in (1,016 mm)

Limitations

  • 2 vacuum zones in total, one for each table
  • Machine width of 241 in (6,122 mm)
  • Parts longer than 60 in (1,524 mm) do not fit a single table

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the table sizes of the Onsrud 122C?

Two tables, X and U, each 60 in (1,524 mm) by 60 in (1,524 mm). The machine has 2 vacuum zones as standard and measures 129 in (3,277 mm) by 241 in (6,122 mm).

02 Can both tables of the 122C be cut at the same time?

With the second spindle upgrade, yes. Onsrud describes adding a second spindle to the twin table configuration for dual process capability, cutting twice as many parts in the same period.

03 What spindle does the 122C have?

18 hp (13.4 kW) at up to 24,000 rpm as standard, with a 24 hp (17.9 kW) spindle as the upgrade. The series text also cites an 18 hp motor at 24,000 rpm.

04 How does the 122C differ from the 146C?

The 146C tables are 60 in (1,524 mm) by 72 in (1,829 mm) and it has 4 vacuum zones against 2. The 146C is also wider, at 261 in (6,630 mm).
