Overview
The NEW CNC Talent T5D is a nesting router for cabinet and panel shops, offered in six table sizes from 4 x 9 ft to 7 x 13 ft. The D in the name stands for the drill: next to the 16 hp (11.9 kW) HSK 63 routing spindle sits a boring block with 10 independent vertical spindles, so shelf-pin rows and hardware holes are drilled without a tool change.
That combination is what sets the cycle time on cabinet parts. A typical nest needs one or two profile cutters and a great many 32mm system holes. On a router without a drill block each of those holes is plunged with the main spindle; here the block handles them, and NEW CNC states that it runs together with the routing operations. The routing spindle is programmable up to 21,000 rpm and is fed by a 12-position ride-along tool changer carousel, with 8 HSK 63 tool holders included.
Axis speed is high for the class. X and Y move at 3,673 ipm (93.3 m/min) on helical rack and pinion driven by 1.5 kW servo motors, and Z runs on a ball screw. Hold-down comes from dual 10 HP Becker vacuum pumps through a multi-zone table that the control switches zone by zone, so small sheets do not need valves closed by hand.
Material handling is built into the base machine as far as unloading goes. The Clean Sweep arm pushes the finished nest off the table and clears dust from the spoilboard, pins align the next panel automatically, and a sensor measures material thickness.
