How much does the Onsrud 97G cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Onsrud 97G that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Onsrud 97G is the smallest table in the 3-axis G-Series: 97 in (2,464 mm) in X by 49 in (1,245 mm) in Y, the footprint of a four-by-eight sheet with an inch to spare each way. It is the only G-Series size narrower than five feet, and the only one Onsrud lists with the 11 in (279 mm) Z-stroke alone.
Everything else about the machine is scaled to that sheet. The frame is 189 in (4,801 mm) long, 125 in (3,175 mm) wide and 87 in (2,210 mm) high, the lowest machine height in the series, and the vacuum table is divided into 2 zones. Two zones on a table this size mean roughly half a sheet each, so pendulum loading as Onsrud describes it for the series, cutting in one zone while loading the other, applies here to half-sheet work and not to full sheets.
The working parts are not scaled down. The 97G carries the same 18 hp (13.4 kW), 24,000 rpm spindle and 12-tool capacity as the long tables, on the same moving-gantry design with one-piece steel columns, a helical rack and dual drives. A 24 hp (17.9 kW) spindle and a second tool changer are listed upgrades.
Who is it for? A shop that nests one sheet at a time and wants a production-duty gantry without giving up floor space to a table it would never fill. If sheets longer than eight feet are on the horizon, the 145G is the next size, at 145 in (3,683 mm) by 61 in (1,550 mm).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Table of 97 in (2,464 mm) by 49 in (1,245 mm) takes a four-by-eight sheet flat
- Lowest machine height in the G-Series at 87 in (2,210 mm)
- Same 18 hp (13.4 kW), 24,000 rpm spindle as the largest G-Series tables
- Shortest footprint in the series: 189 in (4,801 mm) long by 125 in (3,175 mm) wide
Limitations
- Only 2 vacuum zones as standard
- Listed with the 11 in (279 mm) Z-stroke only; taller strokes start with other table sizes
- Table Y of 49 in (1,245 mm) rules out five-foot-wide sheet

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table is 97 in (2,464 mm) in X and 49 in (1,245 mm) in Y, which fits a four-by-eight sheet with a small margin. Five-foot-wide material needs one of the larger G-Series tables, which start with the 145G at 61 in (1,550 mm) in Y.
02
The machine itself is 189 in (4,801 mm) long, 125 in (3,175 mm) wide and 87 in (2,210 mm) high. Those are frame figures from Onsrud's table. Allow extra room around them for loading, dust collection ducting and access to the control.
03
Onsrud describes pendulum processing for the G-Series as loading one zone while the gantry cuts in the other. The 97G has 2 vacuum zones as standard, so the method works with parts that fit half the table, not with full sheets.
04
An 18 hp (13.4 kW) spindle running to 24,000 rpm and a 12-tool capacity are the series standard. A 24 hp (17.9 kW) spindle, larger capacity tool changers and a second tool changer are listed as options.
