How much does the Messer MetalMaster 3.0 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Messer MetalMaster 3.0 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Messer MetalMaster 3.0 is the maker's smallest plasma machine: a compact table in one size, 5 ft (1.5 m) of cutting width by 10 ft (3.0 m) of cutting length. It comes with a Hypertherm Powermax 125 plasma torch as standard, cutting up to 1 in (25 mm) thick material, and its stated cutting capacity is up to 3 in (76 mm) thick plate.
Those two thickness figures describe different equipment. The 1 in (25 mm) figure is the standard air plasma torch. The optional XPR170 and XPR300 sources take plasma cutting to 2 in (51 mm), and the optional Turbo Flame oxyfuel torch with Omniflow gas control is what covers the rest of the 3 in (76 mm) capacity. A buyer should decide at the start which of the three the work needs, since the base machine is the 1 in machine.
It is built to go in quickly. Messer describes it as a space saving machine that can be installed and made ready fast, with longitudinal drives on a precision guiding system, integrated smoke extraction and slag buckets for clean-out. The control console is fixed on the right side. Positioning speed is 1,000 ipm (25.4 m/min).
Version 3.0 brought the Global Connect touchscreen control with its Windows interface to this model, along with remote diagnostics. Height control works by arc-voltage sampling on a CSL torch lifter with a collision sensor. A glare shield and a laser pointer are standard; a water table is optional.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Compact single-size table, 5 ft (1.5 m) by 10 ft (3.0 m), that installs quickly
- Hypertherm Powermax 125 plasma torch is standard
- Optional XPR170 and XPR300 sources cut up to 2 in (51 mm) thick material
- Global Connect touchscreen control with remote diagnostics
- Integrated smoke extraction and slag buckets
Limitations
- One size only: 5 ft (1.5 m) of cutting width and 10 ft (3.0 m) of cutting length
- Standard plasma cuts up to 1 in (25 mm); thicker work needs an optional source or the oxyfuel torch
- Positioning speed of 1,000 ipm (25.4 m/min) is the lowest in the MetalMaster line; the MetalMaster Evolution reaches 1,700 ipm (43.2 m/min)
- No accuracy figure, bevel unit or marking option is listed in the flyer

Frequently Asked Questions
01
One size: a cutting width of 5 ft (1.5 m) and a cutting length of 10 ft (3.0 m). Messer lists no other table sizes for this model, so longer or wider plate means a different machine in the range.
02
The standard Hypertherm Powermax 125 plasma torch cuts up to 1 in (25 mm) thick material. The optional XPR170 and XPR300 sources cut up to 2 in (51 mm). The machine's overall cutting capacity is given as up to 3 in (76 mm) thick plate, and an oxyfuel torch is on the option list.
03
The control. The flyer introduces the Windows based Global Connect touchscreen control on this model, with Virtual Service remote diagnostics. It also lists the Hypertherm CorePlus console as an option, described as giving a 10% increase in argon piercing thickness and nitrogen marking capability.
04
The table has integrated smoke extraction and specially designed slag buckets that pull out for cleaning. A water table is listed as an option. A glare shield is a standard feature.
