Arclight Dynamics Arc Max Ultra 4x8 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Arclight Dynamics Arc Max Ultra 4x8 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Arclight Dynamics or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

A 4 x 8 plate sits inside the 50 x 97 in cutting envelope of the Arclight Dynamics Arc Max Ultra 4x8 with about an inch of margin each way, and Z is 6.5 in. It is the heavy-frame Arc Max table running Arclight CNC software. This is the full-sheet size for shops whose plate arrives as 4 x 8 stock.

Weight is deliberate here. A fully welded, unitized frame of 3 x 3 in tubing with a 3/16 in wall carries a light aluminum gantry on Hiwin 20 mm linear guide rails, driven on both sides. Gantry clearance is 8.5 in. Arclight rates the table for 2 in mild steel and lists 0.001 in positioning accuracy. Plate slides on over rollers built into the frame, level with the slats, and the table ships fully assembled.

The table weighs 2,500 lb empty and its water pan takes 250 gallons, so it is not something to reposition casually. Base dimensions are 58 x 109 in; overall dimensions are listed as 120 in L x 76 in W x 60 in H. With only an inch or so of spare envelope, plate has to be squared carefully or corrected in the control.

Arclight CNC software, written for this series, runs on industrial Linux and communicates over Ethernet. It gives rewind and fast forward along the cut path, start point recovery after a power-down, plate skew correction and an auto rip cut for remnants. Torch height control and dynamic voltage sampling are standard. Under the slats, the water pan is 8 1/2 in deep in 12g steel with an expanded metal barrier that catches small parts, and it drains through twin 1.25 in ball valves. The plasma cutter is chosen separately.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Fully welded unitized frame of 3 x 3 in tubing with a 3/16 in wall
  • Water pan 8 1/2 in deep with an expanded metal parts barrier and twin 1.25 in drains
  • Arclight CNC software with cut-path rewind, start point recovery and auto rip cut
  • 50 x 97 in envelope takes a full 4 x 8 plate

Limitations

  • Plate rating is 2 in mild steel; 3 in plate needs the Unlimited frame
  • The plasma cutter is not part of the base table
  • Little spare envelope around a 4 x 8 plate, so it must be placed square

Best For

Full 4 x 8 plate and sheet Structural brackets, base plates and flanges A first production table for a shop moving up to regular plate work

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Will a full 4 x 8 plate fit the Arc Max Ultra 4x8?

Yes. The cutting envelope is 50 x 97 in with 6.5 in of Z, about an inch more than the plate in each direction. The table is rated for 2 in mild steel.

02 What is special about the water table on the Arc Max Ultra?

The pan is 8 1/2 in deep and made of 12g steel. An expanded metal barrier catches small parts before they reach the bottom, and twin 1.25 in ball valves drain it. Arclight states that the water table captures 90% of smoke and dust.

03 How heavy is the Arc Max Ultra 4x8?

Arclight lists 2,500 lb. The base is 58 x 109 in, overall dimensions are 120 in L x 76 in W x 60 in H, and the water pan adds 250 gallons when full, so check the floor before delivery.

04 What control does the Arc Max Ultra run?

Arclight CNC software on industrial Linux with Ethernet communications. Torch height control and dynamic voltage sampling are standard, and the software offers fast forward and rewind on the cut path, start point recovery on power-down, plate skew and auto rip cut.
