Price estimate
We do not have a price for the LVD PPEB 220/40 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The LVD PPEB 220/40 is the four-metre, 2,200 kN member of LVD's configurable press brake series. It weighs 15,300 kg (33,730 lb) and works at 21 mm/s.
In LVD's catalogue three machines share this force and length, and they answer three different questions. The ToolCell 220/40 changes its own tools and weighs 27,500 kg. The Easy-Form 220/40 comes with laser angle measurement and a fixed standard specification. The PPEB is the open one: same bending figures, equipment by choice.
That choice starts with the backgauge. Two axes, X and R, suit parallel flanges on simple parts. Five axes add independent finger positions along the bed. The six-axis version, X-R-Z1-Z2-X’, lets one finger sit deeper than the other. On a four-metre machine handling mixed work, the larger systems repay themselves in set-up time.
Then clamping, supports and automation, each optional: quick-acting hydraulic clamps on ram and table, front supports on guide rails, programmable sheet followers and a robot interface.
Fixed data: 4,000 mm (157.5 in) working length, 3,150 mm (124.0 in) between uprights, a 400 mm (15.7 in) gap, a 200 mm (7.9 in) stroke, 400 mm of open height and a 120 mm (4.7 in) table at 2,000 kN/m. The 37 kW motor gives 120 mm/s approach and 200 mm/s return, with 350 L of oil.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 2,200 kN over 4,000 mm (157.5 in) at 21 mm/s
- 15,300 kg (33,730 lb), far lighter than the ToolCell 220/40
- Backgauge from X-R to six axes with X’
- Clamping, supports and robot interface chosen as needed
- 200 mm/s return speed on a 37 kW motor
Limitations
- Tools are changed by hand, as on any standard brake
- Laser angle measurement belongs to the Easy-Form 220/40, not this series
- Listed opening of 400 mm (15.7 in)
- 3,150 mm (124.0 in) between the uprights

Frequently Asked Questions
01
All three list 2,200 kN, 4,000 mm, a 37 kW motor and a 21 mm/s working speed. The ToolCell 220/40 adds automatic tool changing at 27,500 kg. The Easy-Form 220/40 has the laser system as standard at 15,300 kg. The PPEB is configured from options.
02
X sets flange depth and R finger height. Z1 and Z2 move the two fingers along the bed, and X’ offsets one finger in depth for tapered parts. LVD offers 2-, 5- and 6-axis versions.
03
15,300 kg (33,730 lb), with 350 L of hydraulic oil at 285 bar. The frame is a one-piece weldment that can be installed at floor level.
04
Yes. The PPEB 220/40 Plus has a 300 mm stroke, 570 mm of open height and a 200 mm table rated at 2,500 kN/m, and weighs 17,200 kg.
