How much does the Kjellberg HiFocus 161i neo cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Kjellberg HiFocus 161i neo that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Kjellberg HiFocus 161i neo is the smallest power source of the HiFocus neo range: an inverter unit for mechanised plasma cutting with a cutting current of 10 - 160 A and a cutting range of 0.5 - 50 mm (0.02 - 2.0 in). Kjellberg positions it for cutting and marking thin and medium-sized sheets on CNC-controlled guiding systems, robots and pipe cutting systems.
Three thickness figures describe it, and they are not interchangeable. The cutting range ends at 50 mm. The recommended range is 0.5 - 38 mm (0.02 - 1.5 in), which is where daily production belongs. Piercing is listed up to 30 mm (1.2 in), so anything thicker has to be started from the plate edge or from a pre-drilled hole.
It is the easy one of the family to install. The cabinet weighs 206 kg (454 lb), while the HiFocus 280i neo, the next unit up, weighs 422 kg. Mains voltage is 3x 400 V, 50 Hz with a 50 A slow fuse and a connected load of max. 28 kVA; other voltages and frequencies are available on request. The duty cycle is 100 % at an ambient temperature of 40 °C, so the top of the current range is a continuous rating.
Plasma gases are O2, N2, Air, Ar and H2, and the swirl gases are O2, N2, Air and F5. Contour Cut for fine inner and outer contours and small holes in mild steel is standard. For stainless steel and aluminium the maker lists HiFinox from 1 to 6 mm and Ar/H2 Mix starting from 6 mm. The torch row reads "PerCut 201 / 211", and the marking current of 5 - 25 A is narrower than on the larger units of the range.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Cutting current of 10 - 160 A at a 100 % duty cycle, rated at an ambient temperature of 40 °C
- Recommended cutting range of 0.5 - 38 mm (0.02 - 1.5 in) covers sheet and medium plate from one power source
- Lightest cabinet of the HiFocus neo range at 206 kg (454 lb), with a 50 A slow fuse and max. 28 kVA connected load
- Contour Cut for fine contours and small holes in mild steel is standard
- Marking current of 5 - 25 A, so parts can be marked with the cutting torch
Limitations
- Piercing is listed only up to 30 mm; the upper part of the 50 mm cutting range needs an edge start
- The recommended range ends at 38 mm, well short of the 50 mm maximum
- The series brochure lists bevel and underwater plasma cutting from the HiFocus 280i neo, not for this model
- The listed mains voltage is 3x 400 V, 50 Hz only; other voltages and frequencies are on request

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The cutting range is 0.5 - 50 mm (0.02 - 2.0 in). The recommended range is 0.5 - 38 mm and piercing is listed up to 30 mm. Plate thicker than the piercing figure can still be cut up to the 50 mm limit, but the cut has to begin at an edge.
02
The table lists a mains voltage of 3x 400 V, 50 Hz, a 50 A slow fuse and a connected load of max. 28 kVA. Kjellberg notes that other voltages and frequencies are available upon request, so a shop on a different supply should specify that when ordering.
03
Plasma gases are O2, N2, Air, Ar and H2. Swirl gases are O2, N2, Air and F5, where F5 is forming gas (95 % N2, 5 % H2). Kjellberg lists the Ar/H2 Mix technology for stainless steel and aluminium starting from 6 mm and HiFinox for the same materials from 1 to 6 mm.
04
Yes. Kjellberg states that it can be combined with 2D as well as 3D CNC-controlled guiding systems, naming gas cutting systems, robots and pipe cutting systems. At 206 kg it is also the lightest power source of the HiFocus neo range.
