Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Huron MX 10 MT that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Huron MX 10 MT combines a 1,000 mm turning table with a tilting universal milling head. The table reaches 500 rpm, and the HSK 100-A spindle delivers 43 kW and 415 Nm, so one machine covers lathe work on discs and rings up to a metre across plus full five-axis milling.
Travels are 1,200 x 1,200 x 1,000 mm (47.2 x 47.2 x 39.4 in). The extra Z over the MX 8 MT, 1,000 mm against 900 mm, gives clearance for taller turned parts under the head. Table load is 2,000 kg (4,409 lb).
Because the head tilts from -45° to +180°, a static turning tool can cut an outside diameter with the head horizontal, then a face or bore with it vertical. After that the table stops spinning and becomes a C axis for milling. Features turned and milled this way share one datum, which is the whole point of a mill-turn centre.
The tool changer has 60 housings and takes tools up to 250 mm in diameter, 650 mm long and 25 kg. That 650 mm length allows long boring bars. Spindle speed is limited to 10,000 rpm. Accuracy is stated as 0.007 mm on X, Y and Z. With the optional APC the machine is 10,250 mm wide.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The mill/turn table is 1,000 mm in diameter, rated for 2,000 kg (4,409 lb), and rotates at up to 500 rpm. Huron's table does not give a separate swing or turning-diameter figure.
02
HSK 100-A, 10,000 rpm maximum, 43 kW and 415 Nm, with a characteristic speed of 1,000 rpm. The same spindle is listed for the MT versions of the MX 8 and MX 12.
03
Up to 650 mm, with a maximum diameter of 250 mm and a maximum weight of 25 kg (55 lb). The MX 8 MT, by comparison, is limited to 500 mm of tool length.
04
1,200 mm in X, 1,200 mm in Y and 1,000 mm in Z, at a rapid feedrate of 40 m/min. The universal head adds an A axis from -45° to +180° at 100 rpm.
