Overview

The Huron MTX 200 is a multi-tasking turn-mill centre offered in two bed lengths, with maximum turning lengths of 1,050/1,550 mm. It swings 500 mm (19.7 in) and combines a 12,000 rpm B-axis milling spindle, a lower live-tool turret and a choice of sub spindle or tailstock work.

The milling head defines the machine. It takes HSK 63T tooling, delivers 24/18 kW and 77/58 Nm, and swivels ± 120° on the B axis at 60 rpm. It travels 550 mm in X1, ± 125 mm in Y and the full bed length in Z1. A 40-tool magazine feeds it, with an 80-tool version marked in the table.

For turning, the standard main spindle is an A2-6 unit with a 210 mm chuck, 65 mm bore, 26.8/20.9 kW and 256/200 Nm at up to 5,000 rpm. Huron also lists an alternative main spindle: A2-8, 254 mm chuck, 77 mm bore, 36.2/28.3 kW and 384/300 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The sub spindle matches the standard main spindle.

Shaft work is covered by a servo-programmable tailstock with an MT 4 taper and an 85 mm quill, and by a steady rest for 4 to 64 mm when the lower turret is fitted. That turret has 12 driven stations on VDI 40 at up to 4,500 rpm. Machine weight is 10,000/12,000 kg according to bed length.
