How much does the Huron DX 250-500 nvu cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Huron DX 250-500 nvu that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Huron DX 250-500 nvu is the largest lathe in the nvu group. It turns up to 490 mm (19.3 in) in diameter, has 250 mm of cross travel and a standard turning diameter of 300 mm, and keeps a 500 mm turning length.
Diameter is the point of this model. Against the DX 200-5B nvu, the maximum turning diameter goes from 365 mm to 490 mm and X travel from 200 mm to 250 mm, on the same 500 mm swing. Flanges, hubs, brake components and gear blanks that would foul the turret on the 200 size can be machined here.
The spindle is the A2-8 unit with a 90 mm bore and 75 mm of bar capacity, running 50-3,500 rpm. Fanuc power is 15/11 kW and Siemens power 14.4/11 kW. This is the one nvu model where the Fanuc package has the higher first figure.
In Huron's table the column for this machine is headed nuv, an evident misprint for nvu. It sits on the nvu page and shares that series' features: 30° slant saddle, rear chip disposal, a 90° tilting panel and an available electro-spindle. Weight is 4,000 kg (8,818 lb). The machine is 2,350 mm long and 1,750 mm wide. Tailstock thrust is 500 kgf, positioning 0.007 mm.
